Power present, will not load...

Hello my issue is that sometimes I get it to load up fine but then after a few minutes it freezes, after watching it boot up with the back case off I noticed the fan was not spinning, maybe an over heating issue? Majority of the time it will do nothing when power is turned on except flash the loading light once and the power led will stay on. Power does not seem to be the issue, fan is ok as it spins freely by touching it, 100% nothing to do with video, even with bad RAM or hard drive I should still get something, just don't get how it will boot up every now and then but then not at all, please help!

Thanks In advance!

Unfortunately I am not able to enter the BIOS settings because upon powering up the laptop all I get is a black screen "nothing at all" but the power LED is on and the load LED flashes just once when first powered up. The DVD drive does open and close and you can hear the motor running in it if a disc is inserted. I assure you its not a video issue and the pc is not running any software, not even BIOS, at first I presumed it to have a failed piece of hardware but some reason every now and then (very rare) it powers up fine and loads windows but then will randomly freeze at any given time...very odd, once again thanks for any help in advance and thanks for the speedy response camille zar!

Hello

  • If your system boots properly and freezes when the window appears then the "sys" file of the operating system is deleted or got corrupt.
  • if the system freezes before you could see the window screen then your OS is not loading properly.Which could be due to following
  1. check the hard disk type in the BIOS and look for SATA and ATA type. Correct if it is changed.
  2. OS got corrupt.
  3. RAM not functioning.
  4. check the boot order in bios too.
  5. hard disk gone.
hope through this you will be able to figure out your problem.

Thank you

Clarion vx603au isn't getting past start clarion loading screen please help?

If your Clarion VX603AU is stuck on the start-up screen, there are a few things you can try to fix the issue:
  1. Perform a hard reset: Try disconnecting the power to the unit by removing the fuse or unplugging the unit for a few minutes. This can sometimes reset the system and get it past the start-up screen.
  2. Remove the navigation SD card: If the unit was working fine before you installed the wrong file on the navigation SD card, try removing the card and see if the unit starts up. If it does, replace the card with the correct file and try again.
  3. Try a firmware update: Go to the Clarion website and download the latest firmware update for your unit. Follow the instructions to install the update on the unit. This may fix any software issues that are causing the start-up screen to freeze.
  4. Contact Clarion support: If none of the above steps work, contact Clarion support for further assistance. They may be able to help you diagnose the issue and suggest a solution.

M9700 starts up but shuts down few minutes after vista loads

Sounds like it is a problem with the m9700 overheating. I have just repaired an m9700 with this exact issue and it was resolved by taking the CPU heatblock off, removing the dried/caked-on heat compound, and replacing it with my own (Arctic Silver 5).
Was 91c before, now down to 74c max on load (Measured with coretemp). Random crashing has stopped.

Watching videos on the internet

This is normal. There is a minimum buffering time, and depending on your internet speed, it can be a few seconds or a few minutes before the video is loaded into memory to be watched without interruption. Just put it on pause when it starts loading.

Can It get a Virus?

You can try to reset the unit by pressing and holding the play and open buttons for like 10 seconds ( do this while there is no DVD inside and while in the main Menu screen....also, you will loose ALL data when this is done). If this does not change the problem, then it is most likely due to a power issue. I have corrected this problem by swapping out the power assembly in the unit. If interested in a unit (it is a unit that is stuck on the HELLO issue..so non-working) that can be used for parts, then contact me at www.suncitybargains.ecrater.com
