Ressetig the ps3 on a new tv

Sounds like the Tv your using is faulty. Its could have hardware failure. You did say it PS3 was working on hdmi on a plasma. If your using the default hdmi cable that came with ps3 that also can be faulty. I have always had problems with the default hdmi so i bought a new one that was not SONY and it works beautifully. Another thing the black screen with green is a video cable or graphics issue.

Does this tv work if there is no ps3 connected? if so i recommend using the standard PS3 Component AV Cable. see if that will let you reset your ps3.

I have a black screen when I connect the HDMI cable. When I connected it originally it worked for about 5 minutes but now I get nothing but the black screen. I tried connecting a different HDMI cable to it...

The main reason of HDMI black screen problem due to HDMI cable may damage and not proper connected to the PS3 console. Please follow below step to troubleshoot PS3 HDMI cables problem:1) Restart your PlayStation 3.
2) Look for loose cables.
3) Try to unplug all cables except the power cord, and plug them back in. If you found out that your HDMI cable is damage, do borrow your friend cable and have a try. If your friend cable work fine, and the black screen error disappear. Then you can buy a brand new HDMI cable for replacement.
Tips 2: If tips 1 not working, you need to go another step deeper by reset your console. Most of the PS3 gamers not aware that Sony actually done include in the black screen troubleshooting method and other HDMI problems in the PS3 manual, you can find it under troubleshooting section - topic "console reset".
If you do it correctly, the console reset fix will allow you to reset back your PS3 to its default HDMI settings without impacting your gamer profile, and other storage data in hard drive.
You will need to perform the following steps:

1. Place your PS3 in stand-by mode.
2. Hold down the touch power button until a series of beeps are heard.
3. Listen for one long beep, followed to two shorter beeps.
4. Release the power button.
5. Follow the instructions on screen.

When playing regular dvdson my ps3, the screen will sometimes go black for just a second or two then come back on. I sometimes notice a red or green flash of color right before the pic goes out or comes...

Ok I have had this happen a few times before. What I do to fix it is disconnect the HDMI cable while everything is still on and playing and then re-insert the cable back into the TV. This re-configures the HDMI signal and should hopefully stop this problem.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa

The picture on my t.v when i turn on my ps3 goes black and white with a section of it at the top gone a fuzzy green colour. how do i get rid of this and put colour back on the screen

First of all hold down the power button for 5-10 seconds. YOu should hear a couple of beeps. That is resetting the video to the ps3. Power it back up. If you have it hooked up through hdmi try the other av cordes it came with. ALso try unpluging and plugging back in the av cords. If that does not work then I dont know.

I turn on my PS3 and nothing happens. I get the

unfortunately, you can leave the unit unplugged for about an hour and try again. otherwise, you'll have to either exchange the unit, or call sony and go through their warranty process. this is the only problem that PS3s have that compares to the "red-ring" issue of the 360s.....fortunately for PS3 owners, this is the only thing they would have to worry about. to the best of my recollection, it has something to do with the internal HDD of the PS3, as sometimes, the HDD controller just "goes out". there really isnt anything you can do except for calling sony. sorry :(

Hdmi leads

Well did you try the 3 coloured plugs thats connected to the PS3 the problem with the PS3 is that the 3 coloured plug is abit heavy so it goes down you mite want to adjust the plug so that it doesn't make the screen turn black or w/e.

PS3 video issues using 1080i

the best cable to use is an hdmi cable, so long as the tv has hdmi sockets. you shouldn't pay more than 20 pound or 40 dollars for a good one. hope this helps

Ive got a similar problem. My HDTV has a compatibility issue with the ps3 and whenever I enter a game or switch resolutions TV starts flashing between dotted white screen and ps3 screen. I have to remove the HDMI cable and then put it in again in order to fix it. (Or if you are rich just get another HDTV :D)
I would try it in another HDTV (different model and brand) to discard it being a problem with the HDMI port.
