It has to drain down below a certain level before the spin will engage so check to make sure its draining all the way. or you can pop the top of the washer lid open (two clips at the front top) to see if something may be jammed in there around the drum. (I use a paint stir stick wooden wedge,and a hammer to pop open those clips.... you might be able to yank it open.
danby is not a high end machine a bearing may be shot on the drum shaft (was the machine nice and level prior to this fault?). if the motor is getting hot then its trying to work so there may also be something between the drum and tub. try turning it by hand to check if its stiff and if so you may have to take the top off and pull the drum

Usually answered in minutes!
Will not agitate or spin. Makes a whining clicking noise, then cuts out. I leave it for 20 minutes for the motor to cool, turn it on again, trips off again.
Drained it manually, removed laundry, same thing.
