Re: pioneer avh-5700 dvd

Hi you need to unwire it all and leave it off for 24 hours this will reset any problem you have.
It sounds like it is wired up wrong somewere you can wire it direct without the brake this will also allow you to play dvd whislt driving this way passengers can watch dvd whilst driving also you will need to check all the wires as your problem sounds like either a wire wrong or the system has shorted out if this is the case and it has shorted it is going to be hard to get repaired and also expensive so iwould try unplugging it for 24 hours and then rewire it checking everywire is in the right place.
If you are 110% sure that it is wired up properly then the chances are the unit itself is damaged.
When you wire it back up make sure you do all the wires at the same time dont chage one after as this can cause the unit to malfunction give this a try and let me know how you get on ok

Where does the green wire go

the green wire is the "parking brake wire" which is supposed to go to the cars e-brake wire that grounds with it is engaged. this is a safety feature to keep you from watching video while driving. if you would like to watch videos while in motion. you will need to put a toggle switch on this wire.... one wire from the switch to 'Ground/metal chassi or black wire behind the radio , the other side of the switch to the liight green wire. it will act like your ebrake switch therefor allowing you to watch video while in motion.

Bypass ebrake with relay on a pioneer avh-p5700

Go to any auto parts store and purchase a four wire relay and wire it up as follows: The relay will have numbers written on the bottom for each pin. The wire from the parking brake from the H/U to 87. Ground to 85 and 30. Remote from the H/U to 86. This will give you an automatic bypass to the DVD lockout. If you want to just put a switch to do this manually you can also. Go to Radio Shack and buy a momentary push button switch, part number 275-1548. Take the green wire coming out of the unit. Strip the wire, and attach it to one of of the pins on the relay switch. It doesn't matter which one. Buy a standard 16 gauge wire from Radio Shack and connect it to the other pin on the switch, then connect the other end of it to a grounded connection on your vehicle. Now, when you play a DVD, the warning screen will come on. Just press the button on the switch and it will go away, since it tricks the receiver into thinking you have engaged the parking brake. Like someone said before, it is illegal in just about all states to have a dvd or other video playing if the driver can see it and the car is moving. This method is used because the lockout not only keeps you from seeing videos but also locks out some features which many feel have nothing to do with safety and they need it.

How to get around wiring to the parking brake so i can watch mov

I may as well tell you as this isnt exactly a secret. You must put a switch in line so that the green ebrake wire sees nothing when you turn the vehicle on and then after the deck turns on you turn the switch on so it sees ground. That will bypass it for you.
After starting up, however, it needs to see a dual pulse. So you must switch it to ground 2x before the video will show.

Avh p6600 screen wont come out ,comes out like once a month

if green wire is connected to ebrake then pull the ebrake and it will open, if you want it to open while driving you have to wire green to ground.

similar but not exactly the same - for a dvd you must also connect a line to the parking brake wire that shows ground when engaged
