Question about Panasonic PV-D308 VHS-C Analog Camcorder
Recently my Panasonic PV-D308 Palmcorder began having sound issues. I can record and the picture is fine, but no sound on playback. Any thoughts on how to fix it, (myself?) or how much it would cost, where to get fixed, or if it is worth fixing? I would love to give it to a friend to use if I could fix it. But without sound it isn't worth that much.
Thanks a bunch for any help!
It's probably not worth fixing. Camcorders are so cheap these days and it's high time you upgraded to a good miniDV camera or even a hard drive model.
You could try resetting the camera. See if there's a firmware update for it that may address the issue. Go into the menu to see if you accidentally muted it.
But if a repair is in order, rule of thumb is that if you get an estimate that is north of 50% what you paid for it, you're better off taking that money and buying a newer, more updated model.
