SOURCE: Craftsman 10 inch miter saw, handle broke

I would reattach it with epoxy. Go to the hardware store with the handle and let the clerk help you pick out the best epoxy for the job.

SOURCE: bearing replacement

Do you have a small bearing puller or a bearing splitter? On some I have had to crush the outer race and then clamp on the inner one and pull it that way. I have also used screwdrivers (GENTLY) to pry the bearing up a little so I could get it with something else. If you have a tool repair shop in your area, generally they would not charge that much to remove and reinstall the bearings for you.

SOURCE: Makita LS1030 miter saw, base doesn't rotate as

dust and debris get under the plate; remove the fence from the base and the lock mechanism from the plate; flip saw over and remove the retaining nut from the spindle, the base should pull easily away from the plate.thoroughly clean the bottom of the plate and the top of the base and check for/remove any imperfections in either with emory cloth. use a mineral oil based lubricant when reassembling and be careful not to overtighten the retaining nut.blow out the base after use with an air gun and lube lightly after each day's use to avoid this in the future

Can't lock miter angle with slide handle

There is a plate under the turntable which needs to be replaced, remove centre bolt locknuts and washer (44,45 and 46) from the underside of the base and lift the turntable off taking care to not loose the detent spring (36) and steel ball (37), turn it upside down and remove the spacer plate (31) and replace it, use a small amount of grease on the spring and steel ball during assembly to keep them in place

How do i replace switch on Hitachi miter saw

Oh come on.
You know the answer.
You start taking out screws until you can see the switch and then you replace it with a new one from the parts supply store.
Then you put all the screws back in.

Brand new out of box but the blade touches the insert but also seems to touch the metal base at the dust funnel. Is there an adjustment somewhere? None obvious in manual.

Check the size of the blade as it is probably 1/2 too big for the saw
The correct size blade will have a diameter that will give sufficient clearance for that machine.

Cant pull out locking pin on miter saw

There is a heavy spring which is trying to hold up the saw that is working against you. Press down on the handle of the saw so that it moves down a little, now you should be able to pull out the pin.
Good luck.

The laser stopped working on Hitachi 12'dual compund mitr saw,are there batteries that can be replaced or does the unit need to go to a tech? The laser only worked for a month and the saw is only 3 months...

The laser modules in saws are usually powered by induction from the spinning saw blade. Since your saw is only three months old hopefully you either registered it with Hitachi when you bought it or you still have your receipt as this type of failure would be covered under warranty. Call Hitachi, they may send the part to you if you are comfortable with doing the repair or they will tell you where the nearest Authorized Service Center is for warranty work. Hitachi's number is: 800-706-7337 or 770-925-1774.

Hard turing base for angle cuts

Most of the time all miter saws have a hard turning base as a back up for the lock in the front. If you are to the point where you cant even move the dang thing you can try to loosen the screw in the back and /or add 3in1 oil in the connection at the back. If you have had it for awhile and it has just become a issue you probally have some saw dust stuck inbetween. That did happen to me. Hope it helps let me know.
