Question about Nintendo Wii Console
What happend is i just bought a new wii and when i put in wii sports and go to the disc channel it either it says unable to read disc check oporation manuel for trouble shooting or it tells me to eject the game turn my wii of and check the manuel for help trouble shooting P.S. please take as emergancy it was a birthday gift from my parents and yes im 12 :(
Just disable the internet connection on the wii by reset the settings. and again wii sports will work! don't ask what happen but for sure there is not the reading drive .. i try some cd's and work's great . the wii sports only have the issue in some cases indipence from the update of the console . that is my opinion.

This may sounds slightly silly, but I found it did work for me.
I had just gotten my Wii and hadn't even played my Wii Sports for the second time when I started to get the Wii Error Messages. Of course, besides being mad to all high ends, I decided to look this problem up online and found I was not alone, yet the only solution people gave was to either call Nintendo and demand a new disc that didn't work or to cut your losses and say 'Oh Well."
Well, a few weeks later after I recieved my Netflix Disc, I found I had a connection problem. I got on the Wii Forums and asked around but got no reply or help from anyone. After a few days of waiting, I decided I was going to toy with it a little longer and if nothing else worked, I was going to take it back, call the number they give you and tell them where they could shove this piece of **** gaming council. After turning my Wii on and off, unpluging it and resetting the connection on my Wii a million times, I finally got up, went to my router and restarted the silly thing. My Wii connected to the net just fine after that and for the hell of it, I threw in my Wii Sports and alas, it started up and worked as though it never had problems.
So, for anyone who is having any trouble, just restart your router. There should be a small push button on the back. Just hit that to turn it off, again to turn it back on, let everything re-connect to the internet and see if that doesn't help.

My Wii Sports disk crapped out on me within the first 2 weeks. I finally got frustrated enough to call Nintendo. They took down my credit card information and sent me a new disk with the stipulation that, if I didn't send the old one back in the provided packaging, they would dun my credit card $16.99. The new disk worked for several months but has now crapped out again in spite of it remaining in the Wii console. Here we go again. Hope this helped

The person who mentioned resetting your router is a genius... I just did it and now my wii sports is working!
before boiling, using toothpaste or car wax, or breaking the disk, simply try turning off the power to your router, modem, and wii console for 5 minutes and then plug them all back in again. GENIUS!

There is many reasons why the disk may not be working, it could be broken and you have'ft to buy a new one - but before doing all that, take the disk out, whipe it with a piece of cloth for smudges, dirt, and scratches, if still not working try rising it with water, and then drying it (Do NOT put in wet) then if it still doesn't work - you have'ft to buy a new one, or try talking to microsoft for refunds, if microsoft doesn't refund you you are with out that game, or you purchase a new one.

See what you do is 1. eject game 2.hold it a way from your face ( warning put goggles on) 3. snap in half 4. tell your parents there f**** and sould go to f**** hell

Make sure the disc is facing the correct way (towards the side with no rubber stands)

I had them send us a brand new disc and tried it yesterday, it doesn't work either. I think it's a problem with the game in general, the wii fit disc is fabulous

It seems that nintendo sends you a brand new disk if yours doesn't work. Only if you call them... :)

Its really funny and awkward and kinda annoying but my wii sports dont work either and i just got it TODAY i swear its really annoyng cuz ive been to like three pages and all of them were about wii sports not bloody working god do they sell faulty wii sports on purpose or something

You could try a 3rd party slot cleaner, or use the tried-and-true retro Nintendo console method of blowing into it.
How scratched is the disk? If it's really beat up, that might be the problem right there.
I had a similar problem before, and neither of my methods worked. I had to get it fixed by Nintendo themselves. Hopefully you don't have the worst-case scenario!
