Question about Dell A215 Computer Speakers

1 Answer

Speakers don't work after getting unplugged once! Light doesn't turn on, etc.

I once had to unplug the speakers, and I recently put them back in. They don't work. "Sounds and Audio Devices" tells me that everything is in order...I don't understand (unless, of course, I mis-read something). If a bad jack is the case, I plugged the green cable into the green-colored hole behind the computer.

How do I get the back speakers to work? The speaker test shows that all speakers work but i only hear the front speakers

Try reinstalling speaker drivers, or check the cables to see if they are working. Try turning off the front ones or unplugging them and plugging the back speakers where they were.

I have a Dell W3706MH tv monitor and the sound just stop working. I unplugged the speakers and plugged them back in still no sound. I unplugged them because it was making a loud buzzing and popping noise...

If possible, plug the speakers into a portable device such as a cell phone, portable cd player or a tv that is equipped with a headphone jack (if speakers have the jack). If not, if the speakers have the red and white, ref and black or black and white male end connectors, plug them into a tv or dvd\blue ray player. If you get sound they are good, and you need to adjust your sound options on your computer. Let me know if this helps\works. Also, not all speakers are compatible with all computers and must have the same sound level equivalence to the device they are being used with. i.e. Ohms etc.

Sir the problem of your unit is the power IC the other channel of this IC is already faulty. unplug the unit to the main AC outlet then remove the cover of your unit you will see a large aluminum plate the power IC is attach to that heat sink in order to fix this you should replace the IC. Or can you give me the part number of the IC so I can determine the pin configuration. Good day and best regards.

Cant get sound

Hello,

This can often be as simple as the speakers being unplugged, plugged into the wrong jacks, or powered off, so don't overlook the obvious and check to be sure. Also check the volume controls in Windows or your application to see that they are turned up and not muted. When you are sure the volume is turned up, the speakers have power and are plugged in, and the speaker configuration is correctly identified in Windows (some audio hardware uses a proprietary mixer control for this job), you need to verify whether the problem is with the speakers or the sound card. Connect different known-good speakers and see whether they work. If they don't, the issue is in the sound card-possibly the configuration of the card is incorrect or the card itself is defective. The first thing to try is clearing the ESCD in the BIOS Setup. This essentially forces the plug-and-play routines to reconfigure the system, which can resolve any conflicts. If this doesn't help, try removing and reinstalling the sound card drivers. Finally, if that doesn't help, physically remove and replace the card from the system. You might try replacing it first in the same slot and then in a different slot because timing issues can sometimes exist from one slot to the next. If that doesn't work, you must try replacing the card. If the sound "card" really isn't a card but is integrated into the motherboard, first try the ESCD reset and driver re installation. Then, if that doesn't work, you have to try disabling the integrated sound and perhaps installing a replacement card.

I hope one of these solutions help.

Amp keeps turnning off say to check speaker wires but speaker wires all ok i think

The amp turning off means you've got a shorted output, so I'd unplug your speakers, unplug the wires, etc, then plug it all back in, paying attention to the wires and where they're going.

My speakers stopped working after they were unplugged etc

Try the BLUE jack, then the GREEN jack. You won't hurt anything if you guess wrong. BTW, are the sub and speakers powered up? Pilot light showing they're on? Some speakers are powered by a USB port - any loose USB cables laying around?

this is the amp IC and while unplugging and plugging it in again helps reset the IC for a little while , it will eventually completely quit and will need replaced
make sure that none of the speaker wires(bare wires) are touching or look like they might be where they are connected at
also if turning up the volume makes it cut out or sound bad then this will also indicate a bad amp IC

Speakers have low sound

Look into your computer audio setup, usually a icon in the lower right. they have controls for volume, some have different areas such as oper sounds, outdorrs, etc. Maybe these are turned down or muted...Also plug a head set into the CD or DVD rom port in the front if yu have and see if the volume is good. Possible bad audio card. Also try different speakers. Small speakers sell for $20.00 or less.
