Hampton Bay Redington IV ceiling fan remote won't work

I''m sorry to post this under a Hunter fan category, but I couldn't find anything to do with Hampton Bay.

I just discovered a remote that goes with my Hampton Bay Redington IV ceiling fan. I have tried all combinations with the dip switches in the remote, but it doesn't work. Red light does light up.

I don't know where to look in the fan to check the receiver. Thanks :-)

the reciever is under the cover for your fan to the ceiling. Try pulling the switches on you fan then using the remote after each try. then check your wall switches,,, it could be wired to one.
