hi,

limited or no connectivity , means the computer is physically connected to router but don't have the ability to connect to the internet and complete the operation.

here is just my suggestion:

connect one of the two computers direct first to your modem, not the switch.

if internet works and can browse you have a good internet connection.

then try to note down your IP address.

now, if you cant access the internet, it means your IP address is not configured to your modem. you need to change the computer LAN card IP address to get IP address automatically, and restart the computer.

Assuming you can connect to internet using direct connection to modem you then use the cable connected to the computer and connect it now to the switch , then from the switch connect another cable to your computer.

if you can access internet , you have good network connection
now on the second computer be sure to set also first the LAN card to get IP address automatically.

then restart the second computer, now you can connect the second computer.

Assuming that you can both browse the internet, the two computers
try to check again the IP address of each and copy it on the alternate configuration of your LAN card.

you can also try using that IP address as the assigned IP address, together with the other data such as DNS servers, default gateway, etc...

each computer should have different IP address, can be consecutive
and have the sane subnet mask., say the 1st computer is 192.168.2.2 the second one is 192.168.2.3

hope this helps, thanks for using Fixya!
