Pioneer sd-p5071-k intermintently turns off, when on its works beautifully

The tv turns off, i have noticed when a very bright color is on the screen for more than a few seconds. I have pulled all the typical components out and cleaned them, all the lenses and " guns" as my friends describe them, the boards look to have never been removed and i have been told that possible loose connections on the boards can lead to my problems.. any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated. thanks for your time..

You may need the power supply board resoldered as I had the same problem. The guy listed below can do it for you as I shipped mine from Illinois to him in California... Piece of cake getting the board out of the back and it's not too fraigile... Just pack in bubble wrap and it will be fine. My TV is now working great.

Good luck.

Fault to the main power supply regulator board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts.

Configuration Problems

Improperly configuring TV setting can cause problems. Verify the TV settings are set correctly. First, brightness and contrast should not be set to high or to low because this can cause poor picture images. Second, adjust the color on the TV when the picture displays colors poorly. Third, if you are having sound issues then check to make sure the volume is not muted or turn down all the way.

Screen dim, black has green in it, contrast and brightness = shin

Since you have replaced the Color Wheel, it sounds like you have not adjusted the Index Delay in the service menu. First reset all of the picture settings you have adjusted back to original factory settings. Then on your Samsung TV Remote and with the TV OFF, Press Mute,Power,123. This will turn on the set and put you in the Service menu. Look for the top setting and select or scroll to the OPTION setting and select and look for INDEX DELAY and select that. Once you have the Index Delay selected use the right and left buttons on the remote to adjust for a picture the has no abnormal coloring and while looking at a program adjust for when the blacks look black with no abnormal coloring. Once that is done, turn off the set then turn the set back on. Now the picture should look normal.

The brightness is very dark. Any nightime scene

Your CRT's getting old. Plus dust on lenses don't help much. You have to open front frill (below screen) and back of the TV. Clean up lenses using dry paper towels, do not wet.
In front of the TV after grill remove center cover and locate "black box" that have 6 potentiometers on it that looks like plastic adjustment screws for philips #2 screwdriver slots. 3 of them should read "Focus" These you don't touch. Another 3 reads "Screen". Put some still image on your screen (like paused DVD movie frame). Carefully add brightness in all 3 colors trying to avoid horizontal lines appearance. If lines show up, just turn it back a little. Try to keep color balance looking at the picture.
This procedure will brighten up image but further reduce CRT's life.

In case that you posted wrong model here and you have DLP Projection TV - just replace the lamp.

Samsung DLP TV shows green color where color should be black

This could be your video board going bad where your input cables are connected --OR-- the color wheel going bad. Hard to tell without a photo or reference though. Try swapping the cables first... and listen for any winding or whirring sounds.

I cant get the color right. its to red??? any help? i did notice with the back cover off, there are 6 adjustment screws

yes! those are the screen and focus adjustments. 3 for screen, 3 for focus. try this. go in menu....turn down color, brightness, contrast all they way down. you should then have no picture, but in your case a little red. then go to back of tv and turn those 3 screen adjustments all the way down. slowly turn the screens back up until you get barely a picture. because remember, your brightness and contrast is all the way down. the picture should be dim but seeable and with red, green, blue adjustments, make it a black and white picture. when balanced..... turn up color , brightness, contrast in menu. enjoy!

My screen is blue for about 10 seconds the it

hi ham1968n,

As blue screen is usually the softer version of static for some television sets.

Simply, your television isn't getting a signal. Either it's not trying to get the signal from the correct component, or you haven't properly connected the cable to the television. So, try to check if the power cord is securely connected to the outlet.

Also, it won't be best to isolate any electronic devices such as radio, mobile phone, etc. that are placed near your TV in order to eliminate static viewing or any interference.

If the menu that you can see is not the television set up menu, but rather the cable provider's menu then the problem is with the provider.

best regards,
