Question about Hotpoint WMA30 Front Load Washer

Hotpoint - wont go into spin!

Wont go into spin, just revolves as if in washing mode. We have just changed the bearings and it was terribly noisey! Cleaned the brushes too. Any ideas what our problem is, could it be the programme as we also have noticed now it doesnt seem to fill for very long, almost no water - but when trying the Rinse & Spin cycle a lot more water is in the machine.

Two possible causes motor commutator is damaged thats the bit the brushes sit on.put your finger on the commutator turn slowly and feel for raised segments or damage if there are any then this is you problem. if that is ok check you brushes have a good length and can make contact. if this is ok then check you card for damage.the filling/water level problem could be due to the limit switch pipework blockage at the base thats the small plastic pipe usual blocked into drum very common in old machines. hope this helps

more than likely the rear bearing has gone bad and when a load is applied the difference in weight distribution causes the knocking.

Black powder and noisey spin on hotpoint washing machine

Black powder sounds like brushes are wearing down. If noise is severe, suspect bearings. With door open try wiggling the drum up and down. If it moves inside the tub, replace the bearings. Try new brushes first!

Machine has become very noisey especially on the spinning programmes, is it time for a new one?

It could mean that either the bearings or the spider needs to be replaced. If you try to spin the wash basket by hand, does it turn smooth and quiet or do you hear a rumble sound? If it is noisy, it probally needs a bearing change. To change the bearing, the washer has to be taken completely appart to get access to the bearing. The parts cost are relatively inexpensive, but the labor costs is high due to the time to disassemble and reassemble the washer. If you are handy, and have the tools, you can buy the parts and do it yourself. You have to decide whether it is worth spending the time and money to fix or to purchase a new machine.

Hi my hotpoint washing machine is near 3 years old the last few weeks it is making a terrible noise when on spin only. \r\nthe noise is really loud but everything is washing and drying the same its just...

Sounds loike the main drum bearings have failed.
Spin the drum by hand from the front, and if it feels rough, or is rumbling or grating, then the main bearigs have failed.
Quite an expensive repair, unless it is covered by the Hotpoint 5 year parts guarantee, check with Hotpoint.

Hotpoint aquarius WMF740 (1 year old) - noisey spin

its the drum bearings there worn out try opening the door and lifting the top of the drum with your fingers if there is any life and the drum drops back when you let it go its them bearings,, then spin the drum by hand is should grumble or growl,,,if it dont do any of this, it could be the "spider" broken off, its an ally part that holds the drum bearings and the drum up,

Noise when agitateing wash only

Remove the belt, and spin drum by hand from inside, there should be little or no noise, if there is then it is possible the drum bearings are failing.
I f no noise, but there is when you put belt back on, then possibly bearing in motor noisy
