My Crosley CDE6500W has no power, not even the light inside the drum. I checked the power from the outlet and it is good. Were are the fuses or could it be something else?

The fuse is located here:

The main thing that cause these thermal fuses to melt is a loose blower wheel and air restrictions.

Model CDE6500w\r\nI am having trouble reinstalling the belt over the tightener. Where is the tightener spring to be hooked to supply tdhe tension?

On these dryers it is best to have the dryer on a platform. Or a truck tail gate. Remove the brace. The ribs go towards the drum. Do not have the belt twisted or it will be cut in 2. Reach in with your left hand and grab the idler. Pull it right to left till it is under the motor pulley. Use your fingers to loop the belt over the idler and under the motor pulley and let is loose. The belt is held with the idler pulling back towards the right. Give the drum a few turns to make sure it ain't twisted. I have a camera now I can connect to my PC. One day my friends will bring one of there dryer over here and we will have some pictures my friend. If you have skinny arms you can get into the the right hand side to help hold that pesky idler whilst yall fit that belt all propah. best of luck to yall.

Where is the thermal fuse for a crosley cde6500w

The thermal fuse for this dryer is located on the right side of the heating element behind and near the top/left of the drum. You will see two white wires leading to it. The Thermostat is right above the heating element - two red wires lead to it.

Model #CDE6500W Crosley electric dryer has no inside light and will not start; the breakers in the house are ok it is like the power was shut off.

The fuse mounts beside the heater and the usuall cause for it to blow is a loose blower wheel or a ball of lint in the filter housing. Check out these repair pictures

CDE6500W Not Heating

The part number is 53-1641. It comes with a high limit and is around $50. You must pop the top on this unit and you will finnd the element in the rear of the dryer. A simple and easy fix.15081c8.jpg

Crosley dryer-model # cde6500w

I believe that you probably purchased a kit of fuses which provides fuses for several different types of dryers. That way the parts store can sell you the kit without knowing exactly what type of dryer you have. If I am right about this, there is no yellow fuse in your dryer, you will need to buy a new one to replace the red dot fuse. Also, you will want to find out what is causing it to blow again so quickly, probably your exhaust duct is a little plugged, causing the inside chamber to get too hot.
