Reinstall the operating system--press F9 while you are booting up,it will accept this F9 boot every other reboot--choose disk scan to clear corrupted filesystem--or choose re-install OS--then press "E" then press "B" then follow through the first few configuration pages.
Also FN/F1 sets the screen to sleep, then FN/F5 switches between screen and external monitor facility, you might have corrupted these settings

The hard drive has issues, or the window files are corrupt. I suggest a computer repair store to retrieve files and test hardware.

How can i recover my eee pc asus notebook to factory settings

Restart your computer and hit "F2" as the black screen appears. This black screen only appears for a short time, so pay attention closely.

Use the right-arrow key until you see the "Advanced" option.

Select "OS Installation" by scrolling through the options with the down-arrow key on the computer keyboard.

Change the option from "Finished" to "Start" by using the "+" key.

Go to the "Exit" tab by using the right-arrow key. Do this step while making sure that "Exit & Save Changes" is selected as well, then press "Enter," or "OK," to give administrative permission to perform the request.

Press the "F9" key whenever the EeePC starts back up, then select "Restore Factory Settings" from the list of options.

Give confirmation for proceeding with the Factory Restore by clicking "OK" and "Enter." Your EeePC will be taken through the process for installing a fresh image on your machine.

hope this helps

Bluetooth fails to start on EeePC 701sd (Linux)

I don't think your EeePC 701sd has bluetooth.
Check the specifications of the various models:
http://event.asus.com/eeepc/comparison/eeepc_comparison.htm
You it really is important for you, you might buy nd install a bluetooth adapter that is supported by Linux (it seems most of them are). Check the Linux forums, though, for advice

Hi My ASUS Eeepc 1000HE is one week old..WHile typing in hotmail..it starts falling behind the keystrokes and just gets slower & slower to the point of sitting and waiting for up to a minute for it to...

this problem might slow down if you have too many program installed in your EeePC, i have my own EeePC then I noticed if i put too many programs too dizzy to use it, maybe you don't have put any partition on your hard drive, repartition it. And then put only necessary programs to use. And also use Tuneup Utilities to remove and repair some unnecessary files inside your system. Good luck!
