If the problem arrears to be with one blade on several clippers it sounds like you need to send the clipper blades for sharpening.

Oster fast feeds snagging clients. how do I remedy the problem?

Hello, Albert -

Clarification: You are asking about an Oster brand Fast-Feed hair clipper. Apparently when you use it on hair cutting clients, the clipper "clips" their skin.

If I am correct in my guess, then . . .

I have found some reviews of the hair clippers which mention the clipper guard combs, which come with the clippers , which may cause problems.

These are links to 2 reviews:
https://www.myhairclippers.com/oster-fast-feed-adjustable-pivot-motor-clipper-review/
and
https://choicebarber.com/oster-fast-feed-review-2017/

The second review includes a recommendation to purchase other clipper guards to use instead of those which come with the hair clipper.

Some of the "clipping" problems may be user error (you), too. You may wish to find and watch some instructive videos. To find such videos, use your favorite search engine (Google, Bing, Yahoo Search, etc.) and the following search phrase, using quotation marks as shown:
"Oster fast feed" demonstration video

Best wishes.

My Oster Golden A5 Double Speed clipper is not cutting the hair on my dog?

I bought an Oster Golden A5 new in a pet store in 2000. It did not work reliably out of the box- needed constant tweaking of the blade tension screws. It sat on a shelf for 15 years while I paid for many grooming sessions. Over the years I would try to get it to work; in 2015, I bought a generic brand #5 blade from a beauty supply, and it refuses to cut no matter what I do. Today, I spent 40 bucks on an Andis #10 and low and behold it cuts like a dream. Went back to the store and bought a #5 FC and it also cuts like a dream. So all my troubles were caused by 2 blades that were defective right out of the box...

Does someone know which # blade to use with the Oster, universal comb set for use with the Oster A5 turbo clipper?

Hi, as far as I know you're suppose to use a size 10 or 30 blade with any combs. I prefer to buy a longer blade like a size 4 rather than using the combs as I find the coat finish not great with the combs.

Newbie Clipper needing advice

This is from the Oster book:
Changing Blades
To Remove: IMPORTANT- stop motor; push latch with thumb while lifting blade away from clipper and slide off tongue.
To Replace: turn motor on; insert blade on tongue fully and then snap blade into place.

Note: if the hinge is flush against clipper, lift it up with a screwdriver.

From me - Never take your blades apart to clean them. You can slide them one side to the other to get the hair out. (One little hair, can stop them from cutting.) You need to buy a can of clipper blade cool from oster or andis both are good, and it really helps to lubricate the blade and keep them cool while clipping. If you live near a dog groomer, petsmart or something of the like. Ask them to show you how to remove the blade and I know they will be happy to show you. I tried to submit an image from the book, but I don't know if it will get here or not.

Oster Golden A5 keep turning themselves off whilst I'm clipping

Ok turn your clipper on and hold it still in one hand whilst with the other hold the cable near the end of the clipper and bend it, rotate and twist if your clipper cuts in and out you have a break in the cable which is tricky to fit but our web site Help section can help.

I cant get my new clippers to cut my dogs hair. How do I adjust them?

Could you please be more specific in what the clippers are or are not actually doing? Are they stopping when you attempt to clip the dog? Is the blade just gliding through the fur? What setting do you have the clippers on? Has the dog been bathed and combed? With a little more information I will be better able to help you.

Thank you,
