Re: samsung memory card problems

Install camera driver to PC.
Connect camera to the USB port at the back of the CPU of your PC.
Turn on the camera.
Select Computer on the screen of the camera.
Go to My Computer.
Click Removable Disk.
Click DCIM.
Click 100SSCAM.

IF there is no Removable Disk in My Computer, go to Device Manager and look for Unknown Device and click on it.

All your pictures are saved on the memory card of your Samsung digital camera automatically. So you can recover pictures from memory card with data recovery software.I have a professional program on my computer that can recover deleted, formatted and corrupted data after deeply scanning your memory card to look for lost data. But you had better have stopped using the memory card of your camera. Because, once the pictures were overwritten by new ones, they are gone for good.
By the way,you may need a card reader to connect the card with computer.Download this program and scan your memory card for free to preview whether your erased photos can be recovered.Get it from

I didnt have my memory card in camera when i took the pictures how can i transfer pictures to memory card now?

I don't know if there is a function to do this on your camera, but on the cameras I am familiar with, there is not.

However, if what you want to accomplish is to get your pictures from internal memory into your computer, there is a way. Simply remove the memory card from your camera before connecting the camera to your computer with a USB lead. The computer will then see the camera's internal memory instead of the card memory, and you can copy the pictures over.

If you have been accessing your pictures by removing the card from the camera and placing it in a card reader attached to your computer, then this won't work for pictures in the internal memory. You will need to use the other method, connecting the camera to the computer with the USB lead.

Erasing the pictures using the computer is the problem. Your camera does not recognize the card anymore. If your pics are safely on your computer, format the card in the camera to get it working again.

I took picture w/o SD card. Don't know how to transfer to SD

Search the menus for an entry for "copy". It should give you the option to copy the internal memory to a memory card. You could also take the camera and a usb connecting cord to a store like Walmart that has a Kodak picture maker machine. You can plug the camera into the usb slot and print the picture.

I took a picture wihtout a CF card in the camera

When you take pictures without the internal card , they get stored inside the camera internal memory (usually 8 or 16 MB only).

Connect the camera to a computer using a data cable, without putting any memory card inside the camera. The camera internal memory will be displayed as a new external usb disk on computer.

'File error' message on samsung L200 camera when viewing a photo

Possible solution:

I had/have the same problem using L200 and SDHC memory card, called Samsung. Can't view certain pictures on camera or computer, camera freezes when viewing those certain pictures, green light flashing.

Samsung support told me that I needed to copy my (good) pictures to a computer first because a memory format will erase everything. Then format (menu->settings->format->yes) my memory card. Tried this just now and took some new pictures, so far so good.
