Hi, by out of whack I`m assuming you mean the color red has shifted on letters or peoples faces, outlines of doors etc.? If so your convergence IC`s have failed and will have to be replaced of course, If your very proficient at soldering and un-soldering you can attempt this, be advised the board will have to come out of the set, answer back if you have questions.

After 5 minutes the picture goes red

That model is famous for having CRT issues. Chances are the Red CRT or one of the CRT drive board is whats causing the issue. Usually if the set shuts down shortly after turning all red then its the CRT. But if it just turns red and keeps working it could be one of the CRT boards dropping out causing the Red to become dominate.

Poor quality picture. specifically the red is brown and can't be adjusted. the tv is about 3 years old.

If the picture is replace the lamp. Lamp only affects brightness if the color is wacked replace the light engine.

Philips 43P8341 picture bowed red wont line up

You will need two STK392-120 convergence IC and about six 6.8 ohm 1watt convergence resistors you can get the parts at the following link and they provide free step by step instructions with pics.

Red muti red is out of wack

you can get the DPTV305 - 345 convergence repair kit at the following link which will fix that issue. Its listed under the repair kits category and they send detailed step by step instructions with pictures on how to do the repair. Heres the link.

Magnavox rear projection

you will need to replace both convergence ics they are both STK392-120 and you will also need four 6.8 ohm 1 watt convergence resistors. You can get replacement ICs and the resistors at the following link and they provide free instaltion instructions with pictures so you can do the repair yourself.Here is the link.

Skewed picture

Is it a projection? DLP? LCD? etc... depending on the type the suspicion i have is it is out of focus.  The symptom of writing triplicate comes from the thing being out of wack.. a tech needs to fix it.  all this is assuming ;you have a projection tv of some sort.

Convergence problem???

you must move red and blue lines into the green. change red to blue by useing the select button on the remote. till all convergance lines are white

to do a proper convergence alignment always use your geen as refferance to work from bring the red and blue to the green also find the center of the screen and on the top and bottom to be sure your geen is centered then start/g
