Question about Logitech ClearChat Stereo Headset Headset

1 Answer

Logitech ClearChatStyle Headset + Skype + Vista Premium Home

Logitech ClearChat Style headset - headphones are working and I can hear my voice via the microphone through the headset. However, when I use the sound recorder on the pc nothing plays back. Also, when I use the Echo123 test facility on Skype, only about 3 seconds of the test message I record plays back. Any help gratefully received.

realtech hd is your sound device. go into windows control panel and access the sound settings then navigate to voice settings click the volume button, your mic might be muted. also if you want the headphones to work plug them into the plug that your speakers are using (side-note: mics and head phones never need something installed to work as long as your sound device works and your definitely does work, only when the mic is a special interface like USB do you need to install software and/or drivers)

Doesn't work with Skype

Fixed it: the microphone on the headphone was switched off - it's a bit of a design weakness in the Logitech headset: it's easy to unintentionally turn the microphone off while putting the headset on. The lower half of the right headphone's central medallion is a button - indicated by a crossed out microphone icon.

My friend can't hear my voice.

Check settings on your computer. Specify your operating system (vista/xp). Also check if the mic switch is turned on.

Lose webcam connection in Skype when using a headset

Have you checked the recording settings in Windows and in Skype? Try changing the default recording device to specifically indicate the device that has your headset plugged. I think the webcam also has a mic and that should not be selected.

Other thing to check is if there is some kind of resource conflict between your USB controller and audio card (use Device Manager).
