Cd/dvd will not read the a cd after the first

When i open a cd with explore then close, the next cd i try to explore will not show but the previous one shows.

cd rom drive is HL-DT-ST DVDRRW GSA-H21L

I solved that problem with the cd but now my pc will not recognize a rented dvd movie...

I have the same problem.

may be you copy the files to a DVD writer its shows the links in it.

Ok is it new drive or old 1?
if it is old one then try to clean the lens using lens cleaner.
