Now try taking that monitor to a different computer. Take it to a friends house or the office. Don't worry it won't harm there computer in any way. If it still doesn't work its the monitor.
Also, you may try lowering the resolution on the display settings. Do this by right clicking on a blank spot on the desktop and selecting display settings. Lower the resolution to 640 x 480 or 800 x 600. The reason for this is the current setting may be too high for the non-working monitor. Different monitors support different settings. They are not all equal, especially if one is older or newer.

On startup when it's cold it comes on for a half second, then turns off. I must cycle it on and off for a half dozen times before it comes on and stays on... I suspect I need a new on/off switch (button). What say you? Where around Seattle can one get repair service?
