Problem for Sony Hi8 CCD-TRV138 Hi-8 Analog Camcorder
Black Screen
The viewfinder and the LCD screen are just showing black. Everything else works fine, the buttons, sound, it will even playback recordings previous to the blackout. But now when I record its just a black screen. I have read tons of posts on websites of people claiming the same problems with sony with no solution except paying a lot of money to fix it. I hope somone can help me!!

- I have the same black screen problem. The below fix seems to be for the 128, and not the 138, even though it is the same issue. The fix is only free through September 30, 2008, so get a move on if you'd like to try. I'll report back as to whether or not this includes the 138. - bamboo99Jun 23, 2008

fix it for about as much if not more than I paid for the camera.

I have the same problem. In the play/edit mode, I can view previously taped footage. Once I put the camera in "camera" mode, The screen is black as if the lens cap is still on. I can even record in this mode and use tape but when played back, only the voices recorded are present. The screen is black.
