Re: scandisk flash micro
Are you having trouble with the file, or the micro drive?
The microdrive is just like a hard drive as far as locating files. You must plug it into your PC's USB port, then you may hear a short tone, and possibly see an icon appear. On my PC, the drive contents appear immediatly after I insert it. You will then locate the file, and open it.
If you do not have MS Access, then the file will not open, until you install that program.

You would access it from My Computer like your normal harddrive. Note if the removable drive is showing up in My Computer then this is a sign that another device is already been assigned to the drive your USB drive wants by default. The links below will help you assign a drive letter to the USB drive.
Files on a flash drive can be corrupted if it is not removed from the USB port properly. Before removing the flash drive click on the Safely Remove Hardware icon and then click on the flash drive you want to remove and then remove the flash drive when the computer message says it is Safe to remove. To restore the flash drive you need to format the flash drive, but you will lose the data stored on the flash drive. If you need the data on the flash drive these WEB sites may help: - Data and Digital Photo Recovery www.artplus.hr/adapps/eng/dpr.htm www.CardRecovery.com

Should abe to bring it up with windows explorer and look at the description of the file and it should say ms access document ior similar if the access program is loaded and you're using xp First always scan it with your virus detector software by right clicking and looking for "Scan with w...'hatever your virus detector software is.
Is the account that your tying to access the drive with an Administrator account? If not, Log in as Administrator and try to access the new drive. If you ARE using Administrator privileges on the vista machine, the problem lies in the U3 smart driver. Try downloading and installing the drivers for the XP SP2 os on scan disks website, If vista rejects the install package off of the scan disk website, let me know and i'll extract the drivers and build an install for them for you.
You only need to use disk management !!
Right click 'My Computer'.
In the left pane, under 'Storage', Choose: 'Disk Management'.
When device is connected it will appear as: 'Disk xx - Removable'.
It should be not allocated (Black Line), so you only need to created a new partition and format it.
Good Luck !! :-)
