Troubles setting up a thermostat

The work setting would be only used if everyone in the household has he same schedule. If everyone leaves @ 8am, then set the leave @ 8am. If everyone returns @ 5pm, set the return to 5pm. Most programming done by me does not use those 2 settings because most peoples schedules don't correlate. Some thermostats can even be set up to delete those 2 settings, and only use the sleep & wake for night setback.

Flashing number 2 code

Remove batteries.
Insert a paperclip or similar object into the "reset" hole and hold in for 10+ seconds.
Insert new batteries.
This should reset the thermostat to factory settings and clear all programs, and it should work normally afterwards.

If the error occurs again within a month, then call Hunter tech support at 888-830-1326 between 7am - 7pm US Central timezone.

Trying to replace my old t-stat to a Hunter 44260 t-stat, the old wirings are :Rc-Rh(jumpered), G,Y,W, O & B and the new t-stat has G,Rc,Rh,Y/O,W/B & Y1, i dont know where to connect the old wiring...

It sounds like a standard gas fired heating system and electric cooling. Leave the jumper between the RC and RH and attach the red one of them it does not matter since they are jumped. Attach green to G attach the white to W attach the yellow to Y if there is no C screw on the new thermostat leave the blue wire disconnected and not touching anything. It is the common and many systems use feedback to provide the common power. The O & B terminals are used for heat-pump systems only. Their purpose is for the reversing valve. Depending on the make or model either the O or B is used not both but remember the O & B are for heat-pumps only not gas fired furnaces. NOTE the best wiring practice is strip the wire with your thumb nail not wire strippers they tend to leave nicks in the wire and will break in the future also wrap the wire around the screw in a clockwise direction it will pull the wire into the connection tightly if you wrap the wire counterclockwise it will push the wire away from the connection. Good luck. I assume the new thermostat is digital. If it is not digital the heat anticipator must be set. If that is the case let me know and I'll give you instructions on how to set it.

My thermostat displays E What does that mean?

Hi, that is the indication for "Error" and you should first replace the (2) AA batteries in the thermostat, (even if you just replaced them recently) and then using a small paperclip, reset the thermostat, by inserting the unbent end of the paperclip into the reset hole next to the keypad.

Be advised that this will reset the thermostat to the default temperature and time cycle settings, so you'll have to reprogram the unit, once you've reset it. With your unit, you only need to set a weekday setting and one for each of the weekend days.

Here's a copy of the instructions for your use in resetting and reprogramming the thermostat, once you've replaced the batteries.

You can also contact Hunter tech support, should the above info not get your thermostat back in working order by calling them at 1-888-830-1326, from 8 AM to 5 PM Central Time.

I hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!

y is the condensing unit outside trace the wire b is used as a common in most cases but it all depends on what the installer decided to use. Be careful not to burn up your transformer or circuit board.
