The lid on my 2100 series printer will not close, tried a compatible toner and an original HP C4096A toner, but it does not seem to fit, it goes in, but the lid wont close, the metal arm that lifts up on the toner when you put it in seems to obstruct the lid.
Am I going mad, taken the existing toner out and it looks like a totally different toner (bigger for a start) and the metal arm mentioned above stays in a totally different position on this toner which allows the lid to close?

I got got this new Gateway PC with 64-bit Windows Vista OS & as I was trying to connect it to my PC it didn't have a parallel port. So I went to a PC store & ask for a 36-pin centronics connector with USB at the other end. And when I hooked it up it had detected it automatically, so I assumed everything fine & printed a test page, but started spewing out scrambled characters. How could it be acting up in such a way when it was PnP?

HP LaserJet 2100tn functions fine, with no error message, but emits a loud, high-pitched, continuous "BEEP" during the entire print job. The lights on the printer indicate it is functioning normally with no errors. No paper jams.
