One european player is the Sigmatek sbr1000 and it seems to be also a clone of Funai. Which is what your sylvania basically is.
We can use any DVD or bluray by using this code with the remote :
973501, you have to use this code each time you turn off the power and
change DVD region.
Insert your DVD, say wrong region, open, use remote for 973501 then close, it's done.

The 4:3 is an aspect ratio the ratio of horizontal to vertical size and the non-HDTV standard; the latter is 16:9.
The PAL and NTSC abbreviations refer to the picture and synchronization standards whereby NTSC is the American standard and the PALs are European.
The setting "sp-raw" refers to an unprocessed video format that requires further processing before it can be viewed. If the disk you have was made for the American market, you should be set to NTSC and the aspect ratio to whatever the disk is specified, most recent disks will be made to conform to HD specifications, but may also be viewed in "letterbox" form which is a shrunken 16:9 box with pronounced edges around it.
Turn on unit and put into TV/Tuner Mode Press “Eject” button and confirm tray is out. Press “repeat” button 3 times on remote Press “0” button to make Region Free When you see “OK” on screen, press enter or repeat on remote Turn unit off When you turn unit back on, it should be set for “Region Free”
