Our Cannon ip90 says the waste ink tank is full and will not print. I know there are ways to reset the printer to print but I could not find the right one for this printer

Hi! My name is Mace and I'm here to help.

There are two ways to fix this waste ink tank error.

The first is to clean the waste ink tank. There are absorber foams located under the cartridge carrier when it is resting. You can simply lift up this absorber foams using a tweezer an clean this on running water and soap. Once dry return it back.

Reset the Printer. This is the last and final fix to your problem.
1. Turn off the printer...press and hold the resume/cancel button... then press and hold also the power button..
2. Release the resume/cancel button while holding still the power button.
3.(While still holding the power button)...press three times the resume/cancel button
4. (After pressing the resume/cancel button three times)...release the power button
5. Wait for a couple of seconds.. when the led stops blinking and turn green..Press the resume/cancel button four times.
6. Press the power button...some functions will be perform before the printer return to menu selection mode..
7. Turn off the printer wait for 5 seconds, then turn it on and try printing.

I hope that is the best solution to your problem. Thank you for using Fixya.

The printer doesn't respond any more, and the computer, when asked any task, answers: the used ink tank is full, contact maintenance center in order to replace the used ink tank. But it would not don...

Hi. I think the problem on that one is the waste ink tank is already full, so you need to clean it or replace the pads on it, because when you are printing or opening your printer it blows little amount of ink to the heads so that it will not be clogged, and that ink goes into the used/waste ink tank. Also after cleaning the used/waste ink tank you need to reset the counter of the printer so that it would print again, you can just download the counter reset software over the internet or just bring that machine to an authorize canon printer technician. Hope this Helps

Canon muti-pass MP360 INK TANK FULL

I believe what you are seeing is "WASTE INK TANK FULL"? This means that the tank that collects the waste ink from cleaning the head is full. You can read more than you ever want to know on this subject on the following link: http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/forums/printer/38697#1 These are the steps to clear the message by reseting the counter: 1)Printer on, press Additional Functions, Scan, Copy, Scan Now you should be in service mode from there for waste ink tank reset 2)Select Test mode which is like the last available selection 3)Select #8 Printer Test, it will do something here like cleaning or something then it will come up with some other options this is where it gets a bit confusing cause now all it says is like 8-2 or 8-3 push the + or - button until it says 8-3 then hit the select button The menu will now say EEPROM Clear Select Ink count which is option (0) and press set Your done!
