Question about Olympus D-490 Zoom Digital Camera

Pics Appear on My Camera but Not on the SmartCard when I Connect to My Computer

I have a problem similar to the problem posted by DebutStudios.

I have recently taken some photos with an Olympus D-490 Zoom camera. I can review the photos on my camera - (i.e., I can scroll through the photos and view all of them). However, when I remove the SmartCard and plug it into my Edge SmartCard reader that is connected to my computer, the card appears blank. I am able to see the SmartCard with my computer and I've successfully copied photos to it and from it with no problem. I've also uploaded photos with this camera using this method before with no problems.

When I try to review the photos on my camera with the SmartCard removed, I get an error message on the camera that says, "No Card." Does anyone have a solution to this problem?

Unfortunately, I no longer have the softward that came bundled with the camera. I would like to upload the photos (that I can see when I view using the camera) to my computer. But when I put the SmartCard in my computer the card appears blank - there are no icons to indicate that anything is on the card.

The earlier reply to DebutStudios suggested that the photos might be stored internally on the camera, not on the SmartCard. That is why I tried to view the photos without the SmartCard, but that didn't work.

Try re-registering the services on the client computer and see if that fixes it. Otherwise I would consider reinstalling Windows on the client.

My nikon coolpix s3000 wont download pictures to my computer

Hi

I used to have a very similar problem with mien, I couldn't download the pics from the camera. The problem was in the camera that the computer didn't recognize it.

The solution that worked for me was the following.
I bought a card reader ( a cheap one cost around 10$ US)
when I used the card reader
with the camera card I could access the pics without any problem and transfer them as easy as earlier.
if you find a solution to the problem please post it here
Thanks

How do i get pictures off internal memory onto a computer or sd card

Hi, I have the similar s8000fd and I transfer pics from internal memory by taking out the sd card then connect to a spare usb socket on computer, then switch camera on. To transfer pics from internal memory to sd card - leave sd card in, switch on camera (playback mode), press menu, select copy, select 'internal memory to sd card', 'select frame' or 'all frames'. It should say 'copy ok?' Press OK.

Trying 2 post pics.........

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

Yes. I understand you?re interested in transferring the pictures from your camera to your computer via USB cable. Please follow the following steps 1: Connect the camera to the computer using the USB cable, U-8. 2: Turn the camera on 3: A window will automatically appear on your display. Please follow the steps given to you by the programme. If no window appears: 3: Go into my documents 4: Find the location of the camera and your pictures 5 Drag and drop from the camera to the computer

Memery card into computer but no pictures

I posted the info below for someone else with a similar problem. I hope it is helpful. Let us know if it is not, Andy If you can remove the memory card and put it into your computer it will see the card. If it does not automatically give you an optoin to veiw the pics. Go to:Start>Computer>expand computer in left pane(your card will have a drive letter and it's name after it i.e.E:\canon sd card.>select your card and look in the different folders, it's usually in DCIM>101 or other ### folders.
Comments: Sep 09, 2009- can you cancel the format. open the folder with pics, then copy them into your documents or picture folder on your hard drive? I have seen these cards do some strange things.
If you still have trouble try rebooting your computer. After restart insert card and try again.
FYI; always let your camera finish processing a picture you have taken before turning it off & never remove the card while camera is on. If batteries2.gif die while processing a photo you can risk losing all pics on card. So download often and replace batteries before they die completely.
