Question about Motorola Mobility RAZR V3

1 Answer

Unlocked RAZR V3 needs new firmware?

I just received a couple of "new" RAZR V3 phones from Electronics-4u and they appear to have been programmed for British market (words are spelled differently than in US) - SMS messages arrive garbled, reception is poor, etc. I think I need to have new software flashed (SW version is R374_G_OE.42.10R, DPS SW is 6234343400 and Flex SW is GSMU3xxT677GAI6Y) - but local Cingular store doesn't know what I'm talking about - Am I calling the wrong people? If so, can someone direct me to where I need to take the phones to make them work properly? Thanks,

Yes, I do have the USB cable - I'm having a bit of problem finding RDS Lite 3.0, but I'm sure I'll eventually locate it. But I don't understand the thing about the "monster packs" - Which one should I use? I'm a Cingular (AT&T) customer, and I just want my phone to have the 'standard' features - in American English rather than British. The software on the phone now is R374_G_0E.42.10R, and it appears to be a "British" version. There are so many "monster packs" on the site, I don't know which I should download and flash - help?

Hi there,
Save hours of searching online or wasting money on unnecessary repairs by talking to a 6YA Expert who can help you resolve this issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.

Here's a link to this great service

Good luck!

SD card not recognized and Bluetooth not working. Motorola V3

Did you redo pairing after you reinstalled the card?
Not sure if that's your problem, but it's worth a try. Also, if you forgot how to do pairing, there are video instructions on under Electronics category. Either Bluetooth video or RAZR vs video. RAZR v3 video has chapter on pairing at the very bottom of the playlist (chapter 20 or so)

Razr v3

Yes. Just buy a pay as you go sim card and pop it in the phone but if you buy as sim from another network you may need to get the phone unlocked. What I mean is, if you are on Orange, for example, you will be able to use an Orange pay as you go sim but if the new sim is from T-Mobile you might need to get your phone unlocked

My razr v3 won't use dowloaded ringtones

you should have the phone debrand by flashing a new firmware on the phone and this would remove the block place in the phone.

V3 phone

Amazing how electronics devices seem to soak up water like a sponge. Check the battery contact on the battery and the phone for corrosion and clean gently with a small eraser if need be. Other than that, if water got inside the phone, you'll be needing a new one. You can buy unlocked V3's on Ebay fairly cheap, then put your sim card in the new phone.

Multiple Problems, language, spelling, date and time, service

jncharles+jdcrutch - with all those problems you should return the phone and have them exchange it.....yo could also have the firmware reflash on the phone....but most times you have to pay for to the phone fading in and out....sounds like you need a new with all those issue it may cost you more than the cost of a new just have it replaced.

Trouble making & receiving calls

whoever unlocked your phone didn't do it right and you'll need to have your firmware reflashed onto the phone. Just have a professional do this cause it is far too easy for someone unexperienced to mess up the phone.

this sounds more like a firmware problem and you will need a data cable and a good flashing/Flexing program to fix it.
