I replaced battery (not hot swap), now goes to POST & 'unable to create RAID array' (which I don't want), no keys work in POST. BIOS reports hard disks, on start-up it says, 'No disks attached' then Windows works normally (but I can't use Drive Image 7). Flash board drivers and\or BIOS?, new mobo? Help much appreciated.

- Hi, mobo is MS-7043 Ver. 100. It was suggested by the computer shop who built the computer for me that the board itself is faulty.(?) Other info: VIA Tech VT8237, 4.31; Amibios 3.31a; Celeron 2.8 ghz. If the mobo is faulty I would like to replace it but don't know what MS board would fit and run IDE's? If I get new board I would fit hard disks and run Drive Image to load. Many thanks for help.

- Hi, battery, 'no hot swap', I thought if power was connected to computer the BIOS retained settings but then told hot swap was needed. I am worried about clearing the BIOS - this computer has to be operational Mon-Fri - I would rather, say, replace mobo and then I would, if all goes wrong, be able to get back to where I was. I still don't understand why I need RAID? - although it is shown in my other computer under D\Manager but I thought this was because I have a SCSI scanner. My thoughts at the moment are to get a new case & mobo and build the old computer into it with adaptors for SATA to IDE. Thanks for interest and any more thoughts.

I'm assuming you turned your PC off first since you mentioned no hot swap - Have you tried clearing your CMOS, use the appropriate jumper pins to your motherboard, you will find this in your manual, short the appropriate pins for a few seconds, that will clear your CMOS - reset the jumper position as they were, turn on and boot your system and hit DEL to jump into the BIOS and reconfigure your drives, onboard raid, etc.etc. make sure once reconfigured you save changes and exit.

BIOS needs set up again. Look @ hard drive setup in particular. If you have SATA drives the put them in IDE mode.
