Ux-a1000 how do i set destintive ring tone for my fax machine

press the START button while it is ringing.

check the cable has been put in the line socket on the fax and not the tel socket as this is a common mistake and that will stop you getting the ring tone]

Noisy line? is all that strikes true when you ensure me it makes great photocopys, but then you receive OK, very strange, All the mechanisms for doing a local copy is the same as sending a fax the difference is the conversion to phone noise so it has to be electronic, I;d guess lightning/power surge, cant think of much else....sorry

Just unplug the machine.
When the power supply is interrupted (intentionally or due to power failure) the memory is cleared.

Is the phone line plugged into the LINE port?

Make sure that if you DO NOT subscribe to DISTINCTIVE RING that it is set to the OFF SETTING! had to figure this out on my own!

Problem is most likely caused by a worn paper pick roller. It would be more expensive to repair this fax than to just replace it.

Try this:

Set the fax machine to AUTO reception. Next, you would want to set the proper settings in your Option Set List. To print a list press the FUNCTION key, the number 2 key, then press the # key until it reads OPTION SET LIST in the LCD screen and press the START key. This will print your list. The following settings should be seen: Number of Rings 1 to 4 rings (setting #2) Dial Mode- TONE (setting #8) TAD Connected- OFF (setting #9) * Quiet Detect Time- 04 seconds (setting #10) * Distinctive Ringing- OFF (setting #12) **

On the bottom there will be a tiny hole which might say reset Press it with a pen or somthing sharp/pointy

Or ring (02) 4321 0080* and they will give you an answer free!
