Re: card locked!

Take the memory card out and you will see a little notch on the side. You should be able to push that up or down to lock or unlock it

Screen is black, wont display picture. It will play sound correctly but no image when play back. The old video and pictures are still fine. What should I do?

Check that your digital camera is not in playback or review mode.
Make sure the memory card is in the camera and that the card is properly formatted.
The Memory Card may be full. Download the images to the computer or delete some to make way for new photos.
Check the charge on the batteries. Replace if necessary.
Have you been using the flash? It may be recharging. When it is recharged, the camera will be ready to take photos again.

I am unable to take a picture, the screen says protected card. How can I clear this?

Pull the memory card out, along one edge you will notice a small switch slide it over to unlock the card. The switch that is furthest from the contact is in the locked position so no pictures are erased.

My camera won't let me take any pictures or look at them. Everytime I turn it on it says memory card error, card locked. i've tried moving the locked switch on the side of the card up and down but that...

Okay I think there is a sequence of errors that have happened.
According to my specification of your camera it works with an XD Picture Card NOT an SD card.
First I'm going to assume you put a new memory card in your camera to take the pictures of your "Art GCSE" If this is so then the card needed formatted to the camera (your camera manual may call this initializing) and you have inserted the correct card type. Also the maximum size of the XD card that can be used in your camera is a 512MB. Again if this was the case the camera wouldn't "see" the memory card. I'm sure the camera would have malfunctioned before you started taking your project pictures given warnings or shut down. Can you turn on the camera and see your pictures in the "Play Back" mode? Are you sure you have listed the correct camera make and model. It sounds to me as if we are talking two different cameras here because the XD Memory Card doesn't have a lock the SD memory card does The SD memory card doesn't fit in your Fuji FinePix A350 camera Also the camera you have listed here doesn't have an internal memory it has to work with a memory card Just below here is a link to a PDF Manual
Manual link in PDF format

Can you put the memory card that you feel has the pictures on it and use the camera Play Back mode and see pictures?

I have managed to put a lock on my memory card in my camera... (it is on protection mode and dont know how to get it off as i want to delete all the pictures on the card. I have the old pentex optio wpi...

If your pictures are on the SD card in your camera, many of the sd cards have a small micro switch on one edge that will lock your card... you may want to pull it out of the camera and make sure that the physical lock isn't set..

When I try to take a picture. The camera says I have card lock.

Hello rdfrazier,

Open the card bay of your camera, extract the memory card. On the card, at the right side edge, you will notice a small slider type tab/button. Slide it to the opposite extreme. Your card ought to be unlocked now.

Lumix TZ3 lens does not open

It is not clear if you are saying whole camera turns off or just screen turns off.

Notice before the camera went bad the lense does not extend in play mode, while it does in record mode. Many cameras have software that automatically turns camera off if lens cannot/fails to extend for some reason. Try to help it extend in record mode before camera turns off.

Cant delete

Well... If it's telling you that it's write-protected, then you most likely have an SD memory card in the memory card slot.

Take this card out of the memory slot. Inspect the memory card for a small, white tab on the side of the card. Notice that this tab slides up and down. Move it in the opposite direction of it's current position.

Insert the card into the camera, turn it on and see what happens then.

Keep in mind that the camera also has built-in flash memory. If it wasn't the SD memory card, then perhaps there is a setting in the camera's options that was used to write-protect the internal memory as well? (Doubt that's the case with the internal memory, however. Never heard of a camera doing that before.)

I'm sure that checking the mem card and sliding the white tab forward will fix your problem. Let us know.

Sandisk is On card lock???

The card probably needs to be formatted for your camera but that will erase the pictures already on the card. Far as I know each card must be formatted to the camera for which it is to be used. Use the menu button to find format. (Last icon, "wrench2", format is toward the bottom of the list. Remember you will lose the pictures already on the card, so save them first.

This is a CCD sensor problem and should be replaced. Try to have it done free of charge by Sony even though your camera is an old model because CCD sensor should last 10 years +.
