How to take it off of hold (by 2 users)

I cannot find my booklet on how to so how do you take the phone off hold ????? how do you get in coming calls and hold on the call you already have
need to know now
please

The phones displays out of range. I took out batteries and unpluged machine. It still does not work. How can we fix this.
