It's annoying but it just slides in from the top. You are probably doing it right but it takes a few times

You will need to separate the inner and out panel in order to access and reset the hinges.

It is a two person job unless you want to pull the whole stove out and take the cover off and then remove the springs. Put the door back on and put the springs back and the put the cover back on.

My door is jammed off alignment and will not shut how do i fix it I had driver's door open abd was "rolling a trash container...thought I put car in park and strarted to get out....jeep was going back on...

A body shop will certanily fix your problem. If you're a backyard mechanic though... get a pry bar in the jamb on the bottom half and pry the door out... if the hinge is snapped... get a welder and weld the hinge back on... there should be an imprint from where the hinge was originally. Bottom line... something is bent.... a crow bar is a good tool, especially on a vehicle that's 15 years old unless it's in show quality... just bite the bullet or weld it properly.

We are having a difficult time getting the door back on the oven. Can you give us a tip on how to keep the hinges from snapping back when we are trying to hook the himges back onto the rods?

Passing on the solution. Some other blogger helped me, so I hope this will help you. Mine is a Kenmore Gas range, but the hinges might be similar. They are fixed on the door, not on the range. Get a couple sturdy nails or similar items and keep them in your hand. Use your foot to push the hinge all the way down, as if the door were fully open. You should see a hole in the hinge, in which to insert the nail to hold the hinge open. Repeat on the other hinge. Carefully lift the door in place and set the hinges so they hook onto the latches properly. You should be able to open the door a bit to take the tension off the nails. remove the nails, and that should be it. Even if your hinges aren't the same as mine, the principle seems to apply. My problem (maybe yours) was that I couldn't open the hinges and keep them open when trying to replace the door. They just would snap closed. Very frustrating.

If there is a hole in the metal hinge near the base; put a nail in the hole to keep the hinge from closing until you get the door in place and then remove the nail.

Fridge door will not stay shut

Glenn,

Easy... The door alignment adjustment is done at the top hinge. Pull up a step-stool, then remove the hinge cover. Under there you'll see three screws, I think they're 5/16". Loosen these (since your door has dropped, they're probably already loose), then lift up on the door handle to align it with the other door... while keeping the door aligned, tighten the hinge screws (and put alot of torque on 'em to keep 'em from loosening in the future). Now just replace the hinge cover and your done!

Reinstalling oven door

be exstreamly careful do not put your fingers near the hinge. somehow pull the hinge apart till the stay open and you may see a hole in it, put somethjing like a nail into it to prevent it from snapping closed. then put it into the slots on the oven till they are in the right position then open the door all the way and then just pull out the nails. That is if it is that type of hinge.

Push the hinges out till they click once. At this point, get your nails or screws ready. Use a screw driver and wedge the hinges further apart. When you see the hole in the hinge appear, put the nail in it to hold it open. With both done, drop door in place; open door slightly, and remove nails.
