Nope not it. I put a brand new one on it and when i stop and put on break or put hydro lever in neutral for any time over a couple of secs. I try to start out again and the belt starts smoking where it has slipped off and under the trans pully. ( like to empty the bagger) It doesn't matter whether i engage the parking break or leave in neutral happens about 70% of the time. If i catch it soon enough i just unthread the belt and redo it.Nope not it. Also when i mow for an extended period of time the trans starts to whine and slip when climbing the smallest grades. I can stop and put in neutral for a little bit and get it to putter along a little bit before it stops completely again. I was told that i might need to put more fluid in the hydro even though they are sealed. I was told to find a drain plug but it would be almost sealed and break it by turning it and add more fluid. Then replace with a bolt..Does that sound right... if so what kind of fluid? dexronIIIAlso when i mow for an extended period of time the trans starts to whine and slip when climbing the smallest grades. If I understand the issue correctly, the belt that drives the machine's transmission squeals. When does it squeal? When engaging the clutch? When in motion?
Typically it's the condition of the belt. It's likely slipping due to stretch, wear or from an oil leak causing it to slip, or simply due to a loose idler pulley, worn idler pulley bearing, broken spring. Look for all that stuff. Look at the drive belt and inspect for wear, cracks, fraying, missing rubber, etc. Replace it if any of those conditions are found.
Check the main drive belt, and the linkages from the brake clutch pedal to the pulley that tensions the belt. If you do not find anything there, then remove the back panel, jack up the mower, and turn the transaxle pulley by hand to see if the wheels turn, make sure it is gear.
If you are lucky, it will be a slipped belt or broken belt. I hope this helps get you going.
Thought I posted a solution earlier on this, but it was my first post and I don't see it here so I'll try again. Google search on your model shows the drive belt diagram on page 27 of the manual.

Looks like mine. basically need to remove front pulley by loosening center bottom bolt while holding the center nut on top of motor. Slip belt over the rear pulley first and then straight toward the front, slip belt on front pulley and then slide pulley back onto shaft. Then wind through the rest of the pulleys etc..as seen in the diagram.
If it is the drive belt do the following place your mower on a level surface set parking brake, remove mower deck, remove belt from stationary idler and clutch idler, pull belt slack towards the rear of tractor , then remove belt upwards from transaxle pulley by deflecting the belt keepers, then pull the belt towards the front of mower and remove downwards from engine pulley Install new belt in reverse procedure
lift the front of the tractor up at least 3 feet and lower the mow deck to give you clearance. push the clutch pedal and lock it down to release belt tension. remove the mower belt from the engine pulley only. remove the trans belt from the idlers about midway back then from the trans pulley & finally from the engine pulley. put the new belt around the engine shaft above the mower drive pulley but not on the drive pulley then around the trans pulley. now you can put it on the drive pulley and finally on the idlers. make sure you have it under all the various keepers or the belt will shred in like 10 minutes. release the clutch pedal & check the belt again to ensure it is in the correct place. replace the mower drive belt & ensure that didn't come off other pulleys in the process. lower the front of the tractor and test
Often there is a keeper on the back of the pulley, and the belt must go inside the keeper. Get an inspection mirror up in there to look if necessary. Start by putting the belt on the transaxle pulley, then on the PTO pulley, then on the idler, last have someone sit on the mower and depress the clutch pedal while you put the belt over that pulley.
I would be taking a very close look at the drive belt pulleys and their bearings. If that is all good then replace the springs which maintain the tension. There is some extra slop in there somewhere allowing the belt to run out of the groove.
Have you checked the condition of the belt which transfers power from the engine to the transaxle? It could have slipped off a pulley; or, even worse, it could have broken. This belt is often difficult to access without removing the mower deck.
If the belt is in place, and you still get no movement, you likely have a transaxle problem.
Check the drive belt that runs back to the transaxle,it sounds like it broke. If the belt is in the pulley check to see if the transaxlepulley is turning when the clutch is out. Also make sure both wheel axle keys are in the rear wheels. If all this checks out the transaxle may have broke, look underneath to see if it is broken there.
