When I turn my camera on, the screen reads, Internal Memory is Full. I can't do anything except look at photos on my memory card and record .02 seconds with the camera
This means that the internal memory of the camera is full. Apart from the external memory slot, camera's have this what you call internal memory. It is built-in to the unit itself.
What you want to do is to set the default storage to the external memory instead of the internal once.
On the Menu, navigate to image store and then choose AUTO.
Auto (default)—the camera uses the card if one is in the camera. If not, the camera uses internal memory. Internal Memory—the camera uses internal memory, even if a card is installed.
Also, you would want to set the camera resolution to a lower value to. The higher the pixel rate, the bigger space it eats up in your memory storage.
