hi all i have a asusp4p800 motherboard that was on and working till i shut it off to add more mem,and new video card,now when it boots up it wil stop at the asus bios screen unless i unplug the hard drive power or data cable then it will go to another screen and this is what it says..american megattrends..asus p4p800 acpi bios revision 1014..cpu intel,pentium 4 cpu 2.60 ghz..speed 2.60 ghz..press del to run setup..press <f8> for bbs popup...ddr frequency 266 mhz,dual chANNel,linear mode...checking nv ram..2048 mb ok..usb devices:1 mouse ..auto detecting sec master,atapi cd rom..sec master:pioneer dvd-rw dvr-112d 1.21..auto detecting usb mass storage devices..00 usb mass storage devices found and configured..new cpu installed!please enter setup to configure your system..no hard disk drive detected!..press <f1> to run setup...press <f2>to load default values and continue...nonthing on the keyboard will work and i did not install a new cpu,it takes it about a minute to switch screens if i take the memory out it will beep continuosly..any ideas..harddrive maybe?..thanx

Hello,
I would try resetting the CMOS jumper on your motherboard, usually done by moving the jumber from the 1-2 position to the 2-3 position or completely off. (Check your motherboard specs for detail) Wait about 2-3 minutes then reset to 1-2 position. I would also check to make sure the memory and video cards are securely seated.
After this, your system should go throught a POST test and allow you to enter your BIOS setup to make sure everything is being detected.
