Installing windows vista ultimate - computer shutdown and now there is a blank screen - nothing is happening

HI NOT TO would have been better if youve mentioned the operating system which is installed in your pc now...anyways what you can try is

Try to check the compatibility of the computer for installing windows vista ultimate mentioned below are the sytem requirements......

Additional requirements:

Actual requirements and product functionality may vary based on your system configuration.

While all editions of Windows Vista can support multiple core CPUs, only Windows Vista Business, Ultimate, and Enterprise can support dual processors.

Minimum requirements:

  • 800 megahertz (MHz) processor and 512 MB of system memory

  • 20 GB hard drive with at least 15 GB of available space

  • Support for Super VGA graphics

  • CD-ROM drive

Product functionality and graphics may vary based on your system configuration. Some features may require advanced or additional hardware.

try and check for this in your pc...becoz this could be the only problem(compatibilty)

if everything is fine try this

turn of your computer completely

then use a paper clip or pin to open the cd drive(it will not open by pressing the button when the computer is off)

put the disc in and turn on your computer

you would be redirected to a vista installation page

might take about 40 to 50 minutes

and create a new user name and password for you

and we are ready to go

also try to check the hardware functionalty before you install the vista ultimate...and once installed it seems all the same as its pronounced(ultimate).....hence try to experience the ultimate action...have a great day

I need Audio Drivers for Vista ULTIMATE

You mean you need the drivers for your sound card or *********** board, if it has an on-board sound card. Go to Device Manager and verify the sound card is installed and the driver is installed as well. If not, determine who makes the card and go to their website to download the drivers on a Vista Ultimate operating system.

How to install vista 64 bit over 32 bit i installed my 32bit version i didn`t relize that it only supports 4gb minus my video card=3gigs total memory, so do i have to reinstall my 64bit as a fresh install...

Yes. But Vista is full of problems. I suggest you use XP instead. Some computer manufacturers now offer XP for a small surcharge because they recognize that Vista is a lousy Operating system.

I have installed Windows Vista Ultimate on my PC. Now the Aero theme is not working and the same is missing. Please help.

Hey, i've had the same problem. Did you try patching the aero theme? Cos i did the same and it corrupted! One thing you can try now is that you can copy this theme from any of your friends' PC which is running Vista Ultimate and copy it in yours'. You shd paste the file under "C:\Windows\Resources\Themes" (shd have Admin rights to do this). Then apply the theme as usual.
But if the above doesn't work and you are desperate in need of the Aero theme, then no other way other that re-installing the OS.

Hope this help. If so, rate me.. thanks - billa

My taskbar doesn't show window preview

Did you install Vista yourself? Coud you have installed Vista on a PC that is not Vista ready? Most likely problem is that your video card is not supported for the preview feature of Vista. However, if you are sure that your video card is Vista compatible then you might need to find the latest (Vista compatible) driver for your video card. I once upgraded a video card driver to find that it suddenly supports Vista window preview function.

First, make sure the video card drivers are up to date, and that the Video card meets the minimum requirement for AERO
