Re: adjusting sound between front and back speakers

I think you have to press the Audio button repeatedly until you see Fader. It may say FAD, or FADE, not sure. Then once you have that on the screen. Press the up or down arrows to fade from front to back or vice versa.

Only the back two speakers hooked up to my system are working. I am not getting any sound from the front two. Is there a way to adjust it so all four of them are playing

IF your balance is correct on your cd player and youve got good connections on both wires the speakers should work unless the front two channels are fried then theres no sound. I would try getting two extra pieces of wire 2 feet atleast and hook them up to the front two channels and to an extra speaker if youve got one then go from there.

I've been trying to figure out how to adjust my sound because ever since I got the KDC MP642U my bass has been nearly non existant. I looked in the manual and it says to go to the sound category to adjust,...

You've probably figured this out by now, but you are supposed to go through the FNC button, click the control knob left, scroll down to SOUND, click and it will show you a menu with Control, Setup, and Preset, etc., and under the Control will list the EQ, bass boost, and highway sound. Under Setup you can adjust the frequency sensitivity under the X-Over option, the type of cabin, location of speakers for central sound, it's all there. Also, on the main display, if you hold the volume knob down for a second, you can adjust the dB level. If still nothing, check if the sub is on. On the main display, hold down on the control knob for two seconds, if will toggle the sub on or off. One thing I'm stumped by however is that I am either getting no subwoofer output, or just any amplifier output at all when trying to use the aux source and the USB source. I had gone through all these settings under each source, i still got nothing. I would assume that this can't not be an option for these sources. I need help.

Not able to figure out how to turn off the outside speakers.

This receiver has four channels. Typically in a car that would be two front and two rear speakers. I would guess that the outside speakers are the rear channels and the inside speakers are on the front channels. Look in the manual for front to rear balance adjustment, and place the balance on front. Hopefully, the inside speakers will work, and the outside speakers will not.
If this does not work, get back to me and we'll figure out other possible solutions.

Rear Speakers

Hello kaykayscott1,

Here's a link to the manual.

First make sure that the green green/black and purple purple/black pairs of wires are properly connected to operate the rear speakers.

You can check and adjust the "fader" and "rear volume" settings from the front panel. Go into settings by pressing the CONTROL knob. Then press CONTROL repeatedly until you get to the setting you want to check or adjust. When the display reads "R-VOLUME", turn the CONTROL knob from 0-35. Press CONTROL repeatedly again until the display reads "FADER" and turn the CONTROL knob from Rear 15 - Front 15 until you get the setting you want. Exit audio control by pressing any button.

Hope this helps.

How to ajust speaker front to back

Hello bill_cordova,

Start with the "AUDIO" button. Press it until FAD appears in the display. Press the up/down buttons to adjust front/rear balance. FAD:F15-FAD:R15 is displayed as the front/rear balance is moved from front to rear. FAD:0 is the center position with the balance equal between the front/rear speakers.

Hope this helps. If it does, please rate as "FixYa".

Press the audio button (A button in right hand upper corner) till you see FADE or BAL press the up down or left right arrows to adjust the fade and balance till all your speakers work.
