Unable to install Audio driver (by 77 users)
I have installed XP in Compaq Presario 707TU Laptop. I have configured audio as below. Install Microsoft UAA sp31994, then install High-definition audio driver sp33443. But I get the error message "Driver Installation Failed: Could not find the MEDIA device for this driver."
Please give me a solution ASAP.

i have compaq presario c702tu. i formated my laptop and than when i try to install the drivers like audio driver, vga drivers, pci drivers, none of them were installed. i hv also driver cd of them which provided by dealer. but hence i could not installed them. what should i do now... error msg " could not found media file:"

To install audio / modem drivers, first download and install Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture (UAA) Bus Driver for High Definition Audio (sp32646):

Conexant CX20549-12 Audio Driver for Microsoft Windows XP (sp36090.exe) (UAA Driver needed)

This will create a swsetup folder in C drive ("C:\sp36090")
Installing this driver may result in an error. But continue with the following steps to get the audio driver installed correctly.
1. Click on Start and select Run. Now type devmgmt.msc and press enter.
2. Right click on "Audio device on High Definition Audio Bus" and click Update driver.
3. Select "Install from a list or specific location"
4. Click Next. Then select "Don't search, I will choose the driver to install"
5. Click Next and then select "Sound, video and game controller" from the list.
6. Click Next and then click Have Disk.
7. Click Browse C:\sp36090 folder and select the .inf file (CpV30D5a) and click open and Continue with the onscreen instructions.
Conexant CX20548 Modem Driver for Microsoft Windows XP (sp36089.exe) (UAA Driver needed)

Download and install Conexant modem driver (sp36089). This will give error message and also will create a folder C:\swsetup\sp36089 which contains extracted driver files.
The same method which is used for installing audio driver needs to be followed for modem.

my prob in my pc it does not working a sound driver.
i am hear to music dirctly .when i am insert the head phone my pc sonud is not diasble.both are playing sound like head phone & int spk.

i had to downgrade back from vista to xp because some applications that i need to use still not available for vista, now as i installed xp, my sound and vga cards are not working, i went to compaq website and found out that laptops will not work properly if downgrading from vista to xp and the only way to solve it is try to use other drivers from other companies,
can anyone advice me of any good resources for drivers for compaq laptops? or maybe there are any others solutions?
