It could have something to do with the batteries/ battery compartment: 1. Make sure you will install a new or fully charged battery/batteries into your camera. Please use lithium batteries Ni-Mh or rechargeable Batteries (2000 M.Amp or higher). 2. Clean the battery contacts. a. Remove the battery/batteries and the memory card from your camera, then wipe the battery contacts with a soft, clean cloth. b. Reinstall the battery/batteries into your camera 3. Turn on your camera without the memory card. (If it works then it?s your memory card that is faulty)
You may still be able to take pictures with your black screened Kodak camera. This problem occurs in the line of Kodak EasyShare digital camera models.
When you turn on your Kodak EasyShare digital camera, turn off the LiveView function. Take a picture using the small-windowed viewfinder (this is not the LCD screen). Also, try zooming in and out.
After taking a picture, review the picture to see if the picture has been taken. Then turn on LiveView and occasionally the LCD screen should no longer be showing a black screen.
Color lines in the LCD display is caused by certain type of light connections. If you get all the time when you turn on the camera then the LCD panel is bad, would need to be replaced. Black lines in printed printed pictures from your printer or the Kodak dock station printer? If that's the case, then the transfer rollers are dirty and would need to checked or replaced. Also drivers could do this also. Report the problem to Kodak Live Chat Online Tech Rep or called on the LAN line (phone).
Press the Menu button. (Some settings are unavailable in some modes.) Press 'up arrow' or 'down arrow' to get to the 'Self Timer' option which looks like a clock set at 10 minutes to 10. Press the OK button. Press the Menu button to exit the menu. (This setting will stay until you take a picture or turn the mode dial).
It sounds like a bad connection on the ribbon cable of the LCD screen to the camera's motherboard. The fact that when you physically move the camera around and you can get the screen to then work, tells me something is loose inside.
Are you using more than a 2 Gb SD card? The z750 uses a FAT16 format that limits you to 2Gb of storage. To use a 4Gb SD card you need to have a FAT 32 format.
I learned this the hard way. I tried to increase my storage from 1 Gb to 4Gb and had the same problem you discribed above.
