Hi, there are two options for you to lock your cell phone under "Key Guard Settings", One is the "Automatic Key Guard" where you can set the delay time to lock the phone, and the other one is "Key Guard Code" where you can set a password every time you wish to unlock your phone. I think you have only disabled the Key Guard Code, please try turning OFF the Automatic Key Guard. I hope this helps.
Just press the menu key and after that press the * key.. Your phone will be locked.. You can also lock your phone using security code by searching through menu-->settings-->phone settings-->security code.. You can also check the automatic key guard option and select it to automatically lock the keyguard in stand by mode so every time you do not want to lock it manually.. To unlock the key guard do the same by pressing menu and * key.. The default code is 00000 or 12345 If you use a security code you need to give the code to unlock your phone.. Thank you for using fixya.. Please rate me on fixya to continue my future assistance..
Press "Menu" Scroll to Settings, press "Select" Scroll to Security settings, press "Select" Scroll to Change access codes, press "Select" Scroll to Change security code, press "Select" Enter the current security code, press "OK" Enter a new security code, press "OK" Re-enter the new security code, press "OK".
The Keypad Lock Icon is seen on top of the screen at various positions depending on the number of icons displayed. An Open Lock signifies that the phone’s keypad is unlocked and a closed lock signifies that the keypad is locked. You can unlock the keypad by pressing Unlock (by right soft key) on the phone, followed by the Send (GREEN) key. Similarly for locking the keypad, press the End (RED) key, to be followed by the Send key.
The user guide for your phone does not indicate a default pass code. Most default passcodes are either 5 or 6 zeros. Some are 12345.

If it is a flip phone, most flip phones dont offer the ability to lock the keys because they are thinking there isn't a need for that since the keys are hidden by the top of the phone, if it is a candybar phone usually the menu key and the * (star) key are used to lock and unlock your phones, if its a smart phone there may be some options in the settings. You didnt mention what brand your phone is based on the model number sounds like a samsung. you can go to samsungs website and research the model number and usually they have information on how to do everything you need with the phone. most cell phone carriers have this info too, you may have to dig threw the website a little though
