Take it out and get in there with a vacuum. There are fans that keep it cool and there is a color wheel that might be damaged. All those shards need to be removed

My toshiba mod. 52hm95 lamp cooling fan is making noise and i am having trouble locating a replacement

Fan like noise may be a fan or the color wheel---color wheel spins at high speed(lamp faces it) and when failing you will have a high pitched or fan like sound---hard failure and you will hear a grinding sound.

Lamp went bad so i replaced it.the picture is like new really looks good.2 weeks later the tv will not stay on for more than 10 mins.turn it back on stays on rest of the it will not stay on for...

First You have to check the lamp cooling fan. if the fan didn't run at the correct RPM then the lamp will not get proper cooling and the lamp will get over heated. This will result in termal shutdown. And the tv will go to standby to prevent from burning the lamp. Just replace the fan. If the problem remains after replacing the fan then the problem is wiih lamp blasting circuit. If so you have to replase the lamp blast.

When i turn it off it buzzes for like 10 minuets or so whats going on?

soccerquinn, Unit may need new projection-lamp cooling fan to to be installed. Sometimes bad bearings will make that "buzz sound" you hear. After you, or when you power-off the unit, the fan is still required to do a "cool-down" of the lamp to prevent excess heat build-up inside the bulb housing. You should be able to find on internet. Shop- around first.

Samsung DLP will not turn on

If your having the "3 light" problem it could be an indication of a bad lamp however if there is a buzzing or a grinding sound it could be one of two moving parts. The color wheel or the cooling fan. I would go the cheaper route and replace the color wheel first. The thing is the lamp will not turn on if there is a problem with one of the other two parts. TRUST me ... I've replaced all three parts just to find out it was only the cooling fan. (at least I have another lamp handy when the new one goes out). The motor on the cooling fan is too small for such a big fan so I would definately try it first. It's a big problem with the DLP tvs. Hope this helps.
