Question about Nikon COOLPIX L10 Digital Camera
When my camera is set to flash or auto flash mode it will not flash. This is an intermittant problem that I thought was associated with low batteries but I replace the batteries with brand new ones and it still won't flash. It is frustrating because it is intermittant and I can't be certain if it's going to flash or not when I need it most. I have never dropped the camera or done any damage to it to cause the problem so it seems like a hardware issue.
If you have the BSS (Best Shot Selector - page 79 of manual)...turn on then the flash or auto flash is over ridden and will not work. This happen as the BSS feature allows you to hold down the shutter release button (one used to take pictures) and continually take pictres, compare them and only keep the best one. The need to take rapids shots can not wait for a flash to recharge and go off so the flash is disabled... among other things but is all explained in the manual. I hope this is all your problem is and not something worse.
