Re: browsing internet

Check that you have no spyware or virus by running the appropriate programmes, then clean all your temporary internet files as you may have some corrupt cookies, you can get a good system cleaner free to download from the link below called ccleaner

Cant get home e-mail on work computer

You need to change the settings of your e-mail provider to what is called IMAP...This leaves the original e-mail on your mail server, allowing you to check from multiple locations. If you are getting them at home, but not able to get them on a laptop, work computer etc...You probable have it set to POP mail, and it needs to be changed to IMAP... Some more info as to what mail you are using, and if you are trying to retrieve them using the web, or a mail client such as Outlook or Thunderbird would help clarify your problem a little more.

do you have a firewall set up? It should already be done for you, but you need ports 25 (smtp) to send and port 110 (pop3) to receive emails, it may be that your email service needs to open these ports or supply you with the ports that they are using, although I vannot see why they would have changed them.

Internet surfing

yes its true. computer specs gives a big factor on internet connection. even though you have a fast speed broadband but your computer is low ed. it will lead to a low opening page like when your browsing with a high definition web page but your processor, memory and graphics coudnt cooperate well to the connection. thats what we called frame per seconds or fps.
