I take it this is an onboard video that is sharing system memory. You will need to enter the bios settings and set the shared memory from here.

Hi,
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

The graphics card - it overheated because the radiator makes a bad contact on the chip in these models. Unfortunately the damage is extensive, the repair would cost even more than another working laptop - just get a new one.

Ati radeon 9550 agp with pinnacle pctv hd problem please help

Try to put it on another pci slot. if you are using the one right under the agp, then that is your culprit.  the agp and the top pci slot share video resources.  just put it on another pci slot, if you have to swap another non-video related card to the one just beneath the agp slot.  Hope this helps.

I suspect my graphics card has been swapped by my comp. guy.

Your graphics are integrated into the motherbaord, so he couldn't have changed it out on you. Your Satellite has a ATI MOBILITY RADEON 9000 IGP with 64MB shared memory.

You can try to update or rollback the driver to see if that solves the problem, or contact the guy who serviced your laptop and see if he has any ideas.

I want to share memory with my graphic card

the system cannot share memory with your graphic card, the hard disk can share its free space with the RAM to increase performance when you have little RAM installed.
I recommend buying a graphic card with 512mb memory for your system.

This model comes in 2 different flavors and I am unsure which one you have but here's the skinny on it:
Option 1:
ATI Radeon® Xpress 1100 chipset with integrated 3D
graphics, up to 256 MB of shared system memory

Option 2:
• ATI Mobility™ Radeon® X1300/X1600 with up to 512MB of
HyperMemory™ (64MB of dedicated GDDR2 VRAM;
up to 448MB of shared system memory), supporting

Regardless of which one you have, you should be able to set the shared memory in the BIOS, or you can use the Acer ePerformance Management software either installed on your machine already, or which can easily be downloaded from their website at this link:

Graphics card does not respond

remove the new graphic card. reconnected the monitor back to themotherboard. download the Radeon 9550 video card drive, and install it on the machine first.
http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.html
shut down the machine. install the video card. restart the machine.

make sure the driver is in a folder you can find.
