SOURCE: unable to connect jabra t5330 to a cisco ip phone 7941G headset jack

You can solve this by connecting your phone inline.
On the back of the phone where the phone handset plugs into, plug one end of the jabra headset wire & connect other end to the 2nd position (marked by phone & handset). Now plug the handset wire from Ip phone to the 1st position (marked by handset) in the jabra headset. Now you are good to go.

When the phone rings lift the phone handset and answer it with your jabra headset. You can't use jabra with 7941 without lifting the handset on phone.

SOURCE: outside caller hears themselves in an echo

Echo is usually caused by the transmit (speak) level on the unit being set too high.

1. First, try lowering the volume of the telephone. If you still hear an echo, adjust the volume of the headset itself.

2. The master transmit controls of the headset are the ABCD switch settings on the bottom of the base. A is the lowest and D is the highest setting.

3. You can fine tune this setting with the plus (+) and minus (-) buttons on the back of the charging base.

4. If this doesn't fix the echo, try moving the configuration dial on the left side of the charging base. The recommended setting for most phones is 1.

SOURCE: i connected my S11 plantronics

Most Cisco phones have a headset port where you can connect a headset using a special direct connect cable. This allows you to use your headset without touching the handset (receiver). However, when using an amplifier and headset combination, like the S11, you will need to connect through the HANDSET port. You disconnect the handset cable from the phone, connect the S11 cable into that port and connect the handset cable into the back of the S11 amplifier. Be sure to follow the illustrations on the back of the amplifier when connecting the cables. Also, adjust the configuration slide on the left of the amplifier for the best possible dial tone. Remember that in order to access a call or make a call, you will have to lift the handset off the phone and set it aside (switch hook needs to be activated).

The Cisco 7940 Phone...if you work from home and use this phone can your Corp office be able to monitor your calls?

It is possible for them to monitor voip calls, if your call passes through their network, or they do remote monitoring on network traffic. The voip traffic is only data that needs to be 'reassembled' to hear the voice stream. However, this is more difficult if the traffic is encrypted between the phone and the call manager or whatever they are using.

I am no legal person, but I am sure that you would have to have agreed to have your calls monitored for them to be able to do this.

My Headset does´nt have dialtone, I was connecting to cisco phone 7941, 7970, 7911, and nothing, not work.

You can use a Plantronics S11 headset with a Cisco phone, however it is not the best compatible solution. To use an S11 with a Cisco phone, you have to make sure that you are plugging it into the handset receiver jack and not the headset jack. You will need to lift the handset receiver, set it off to the side, and then hang it up after each call. If you want a more compatible solution that you can plug into the actual headset jack and just press the headset button on the telephone to answer and hang up, then you would need one of the Plantronics "H-series headsets" with the Plantronics Cisco direct connect cable ( model 26716-01 ).

Cisco IP phone 7941-- No power on the phone just a blank screen after I installed a headset, I did unplug the headset but is not coming back on.I also tried a new Ethernet cable but no luck. What can I do...

Is the phone connected to a POW (Power Over Ethernet)Cisco Switch? Check the model number of the switch with the Cisco web site www.cisco.com

Have you check whether there is power available on the switch?
enter "show power inline" at the command prompt.

Does the phone work without the head set?
Does the same thing happen when you plug in the head set on another phone?

Netgear fs726tp and cisco phones

that the 7940 and 60
phones from Cisco do not support the IEEE 802.3af Power Over Ethernet
standard
they would work if you
simply reversed the polarity of 2 of the pairs of wire. i.e
by swapping 4 with 7, and 5 with 8 you could use a standard
POE injector to power the phone.
if you have a crimp tool and some cable laying around, you can give it
a whirl and it works. If you aren't familiar with making cable,
don't try this
Basically, you just wire one side of the cable as standard 568b
and then reverse 4 and 7, and 5 and 8 on the other side. Then,
simply plug your Cisco into a standard POE injector and Your phone works.
