New Logik TV Standbymode

Hey i just bought logik tv log32lw782 - and it seems to drop into standby mode when I have it on ext1. Ext1 is plugged into set topo box - i read that its usally due to signal strength issue - altho the channels seem fine and picture is perfect. Is there any other reason it does this?

If you're relying on cheap cables - like the ones that are usually tossed in with electronics - you could be running into a signal issue because they aren't shielded and they lose alot of signal due to leakage.

You don't have to overpay for Monster cables, mind you, but cables that are shielded - in gold is even better - should help improve your signal.

I have Bush TV, a Virgin Tivo box connected by HDMI & a Wii connected EXT1. Every time I turn the TV on it says no Video connected & reverts to EXT1. How can I get it to start with HDMI as standard?

Try turning TV off and all devices connected to the TV off, Turn the TV on and then turn on the device you wish to use and that should activate the TV circuitry.

Why can't my TV find a digital signal when connected to my digital ready aerial? Tuning for digital stations finds none. Does this TV require a set top box? If not how can I make it find and play n

hey, when connect any aerial in the back of the TV make sure you have a look for the name of the connection you use ( Skart,ext1,ext2,usb,hdmi1, hdmi2 etc.) so you can do a search on that extension. if you connect something on Hdmi1 and search on hdmi2 you won't find anything. you have to search on Hdmi1. PS: good luck.

Hi.

The only non-obvious thing to check from user level point of view is the PAL/NTSC settings on TV and devices, but if the TV is in use on the country of purchase, and if you get the same problem using different devices, then this should not be the problem.

If the TV does not display any input, and you are sure that the source/input selector button on remote is working, then the TV has a fault signal board, that on this models should be integrated on the digital board. The TV in that case must be fixed by a technician.

Try connecting the DVD directly (bypassing cable box), using a SCART that you know is working. If you cannot see the DVD display after selecting EXT1 and EXT2 , then it is a faulty signal input on TV.

Ensure that the problem are not cables.

Try also the following:

  1. Disconnect TV power cord.
  2. Disconnect DVD power cord.
  3. Connect DVD using SCART on EXT1.
  4. Connect again power cords.
  5. Turn DVD on.
  6. Turn TV on two minutes after DVD is on.

If yous still cannot watch the DVD signal, then the TV is faulty.

Regards.

MRV700VR

EXT1 is not an error - that message means that the dvd player is on input "EXT1" - so it is trying to display whatever is connected to EXT1 in the back of your DVD player, whether it is a cable/sat box, another vhs player, etc. The message may be getting displayed for a number of reasons - but, if you put in an incompatilbe/unfinalized disc type, and it is not able to play that disc, it may default to EXT1 b/c it is searching for some type of usable signal.

The MRV700VR is only compatible with certain discs types - and the disc types that you are trying to insert must also be finalized discs. I would reccomend only using the compatible disc types listed in your user's manual - some of them are getting harder-to-find. 16x discs are very iffy with this machine. 8x discs are best.

I have the full user's manual, so I can give you any more details that you request.

Hi,

This is an internal weakness of the video source selection circuitry and perhaps your best bet would be to seek service/replacement from the point of purchase/dealer. Technically, it is "signal bleedover" or "video splatter" and has to do with shielding/grounding but again internally. Best temporary fix is to power off the video source plugged into EXT2. Alternately, you can try switching them around, make the DVD EXT2 and the Satellite EXT1.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

DVD recording.

Sounds like the DVDR is recording from the digi-box through the TV, so when the TV is switched of or into standby the signal is lost, causing the recorder to pause.

Assuming the digi-box has two scart sockets, connect as follows:

  • Scart 1 or TV scart of the digi-box to the TV.
  • Scart 2 or VCR/DVD scart of the digi-box to scart 1 of the DVDR3380.
The TV aerial should already be connected through the digi-box and DVDR3380 to the TV

To record from the digi-box, select AV1 / E1 / EXT1 on the DVDR3380
