We called it adware, its a virus. i suggest u to install Avast 4.7, update the virus data base. make a full scan all all partition. if it ask you to run dos mode, click yes. then restart the pc, it will scan your computer Dos mode. delete all virus found. once done maybe some windows files maybe corrupted. u maybe need to reinstall windows. if u dont have anything important on the pc then no need to install avast, just reinstall windows, delete all partition first. go to my web site www.mnlcomputerltd.tk u will see under interesting links a link name Cyberserg. go to that web site make a search Avast in the search box.

Sounds like the "Anti-virus software" was actually spyware or malware.

First, install and run SpyBot and MalwareBytes.

If still a problem, roll back your operating system and files via System Restore. Access via Safe Mode if necessary. Choose a date before you downloaded this problem. Note that your data files will roll back, also.

If still a problem, you'll need to reinstall your OS.

Hope this helps.

Hi,
Is this the antivirus2009? If it is then its a virus itself and quite a nasty one.
Depending on how long the virus has been on the computer you may be able to restore the system to before you downloaded it.
To restore the system using XP click on the start menu, then the run box, type in the run box rstrui.exe
To restore the system with Vista click on the orb and in the search box type rstrui.exe.
Both methods will bring the restore window up, all you have to do is work out a date when your PC was running well.
If you can't restore the system with system restore then the virus has wiped out your restore points which could mean a full system recovery using recovery CD's or partition.

Good luck.

I need to know which one it is in order to help you. You will have to remove the spy ware from your registry using registry editor. If you want more help on this let me know, you can also download Maleware anti virus to remove many bugs that other systems can't remove. If you can't get rid of it after installing Maleware bytes e-mail me at [email protected] so I can give you the step-by-step procedure I also need to know what operating system you are running..

When you play a game and an advertisement pops up and then an X at the top right it will not go away and can't get out what do I do

I am basing my answer if you have a computer. Leave the page and then go back to it. If that doesnt work try logging off your device and then back in. If that doesnt work you might have a Trojan or virus. Use your Anti-virus program and scan your machine. See if that helps. I am not an expert, I am only offering a suggestion.

I GET POP UP ADS WHILE WATCHING NETFLIX HOW DO I GET RID OF THEM BEFORE WATCHING A MOVIE.

Netflix does not push advertisements to members using our service. If you are experiencing advertisements or pop-ups when streaming video from Netflix to your computer, your computer or browser has most likely been compromised by malware.
To resolve this issue, use the anti-malware, anti-adware or anti-virus software recommended by your computer manufacturer or a trusted IT professional.
While Netflix as a company does not endorse or advocate specific vendors, our Support Engineers have successfully used Malware Bytes (http://www.malwarebytes.org/) to clean up these types of infections. Keep in mind that malware can evolve, or other malicious programs may cause similar problems. Here is list of reputable software vendors that sell or provide free tools to help combat these types of attacks on your PC or Mac:

I keep trying to quarantine then delete issues with webroot anti virus but my computer keeps freezing up and won't do anything, when I cont. alt delete, it says task manager has been diabled by...

Sounds like you have spyware or a trojan rather than a virus. You can try a restore point if there is one or you can try SPYBOT to see if it can delete it effectively.Webroot is probably causing the freezing from not being able to shut the program down first then eliminating it or its not made to really get rid of spyware/trojans/worms etc at all. There are very few Anti-Virus-Spyware removers that actually work as well as they are advertised.

Anti virus 2009

This is known as a non intrusive advertisement trojan, and it's near impossible to get rid of. The reason is that when this invades your machine it places several inactive copies of itself throughout the computer. When you stop one, the others are basically notified, and one or two more will open and leave several more, but not all of them will open. After a couple of months the number is exponential. Most anti viruses won't find them because they are non intrusive, laying dormant, or are in files that aren't scanned on a regular basis, ie... picture files, screen savers, music, etc... The only sure way that I've found to get rid of them is to completely wipe the hard drive, reformat, and reinstall the operating system.

MY GATEWAY LAPTOP "MX6214" IS GETTING A MESSAGE ON BOTTOM RIGHT CORNER SAYING THE SYSTEM IS DETECTING ACTIVE SPYWARE. WHEN I CLICK ON THE MESSAGE, IT DIRESCTS ME TO A "VIRUS-HEAT" ADD...

It is a virus or spyware try running a antivirus or antispyware prog if that doesn't help you will have a choice live with it(easy, but annoying), take it in (easy, but expensive), or save all your important files and reload everything (little more difficult, but cheap). Hope that helps you out. Either way you do it make sure to always have antivirus and antispyware running, you can get good ones for free. here are some links.
