I have a NAD 524 audio cd player , keep on skipping, some times its works perfectly ? what shall i do?

Sounds like your lens is dirty as this happens on my awai cd player? try a liquid based cd cleaner kit in it ( follow the instructions though? ) or alternatively, unplug the unit, remove the casing and using a childs paintbrush and a small amount of isoprenol alcohol gently clean the actual lens and allow the liquid to dry, ( dont try using a cloth!) and refit your casing etc before trying it out? Also, depending on the bit rate sampling it may not be able to read certain discs if it is an old model? good luck.

Adcom GCD 600 CD changer has begun to skip when playing CD

Thanks for your suggestions. However I am using carefully boxed clean CDs and the skipping is on all. The Laser glass is clean. Since submitting the problem I removed case and the CD is lifted off tray by a lift motor which has a round nylon top on the shaft which "sandwiches" the CD against a freely rotating plastic piece in a lipped cylinder container. The lift motor then rotates the CD which is read by a separate fixed laser. My current suspicion is that the CD is slipping inside the rotating "sandwich". Hopefully someone who has worked on an Adcom GCD 600 can suggest a fix.

Hi Skipping problem with a NAD C545BEE, plays OK for 1 minute, then skips randomly wthin the track, then will skip to different tracks on the CD, like fast forwarding. No problems with the disc themselves

There is a diode in the power supply which gives dc supply to the laser focusing coil driver ic . if the diode get faulty this problem can occur. Just replace all the rectifier diodes in the power supply stage. Its better than searching for the exact one. then check the cd player is it skips the tracks. if then also its skips the tracks then you have to change the laser pickup unit.

Hi,

Just a tip.
You can try to burn an CD at a lower speed.
So the index will be deeper and better readable for a normal CD-player.

NAD 5340 spins disk but no audio output

Hi...
I've worked on a number of NAD players.
2 things to look for.
1. The belt that pulls the drawer in also lifts the laser assby to the disc. Those wear out.
2. The capacitors in the power supply section tend to age poorly.
Theyre usually 470 to 1000 uF(microfarads)
Also try pulling all the cables and re-seating them
