Question about RCA 32F531T 32" TV

RCA pix tearing horizontal lines

Starting problem Dead TV. RCA 32F530T, chassis ATC113CD4. I Replace flyback # 257807 along with the H-O/P XSTR (2SC5148).
> Problem fix. Everything work fine, except i have hatching or tearing lines at one or two places on the screen depending on the white level (contrast), always in half screen area on the top. Same symptom with video and RF input.
>I replace the flyback 3 times with different part # (not original RCA flyback) and suppliers, 257807, 257805 and ACME-2632 (replacement for RCA #261163). Still have exactly the same problem with 2 tv set. I checked parts in the horizontal and vertical circuit, DC supply, everything looks good.
See pictures.
Any suggestion? Bulletin note?
Someone saw that before?

Additional info: RCA 32F530T TV year 2004 (not 32F531T).

Original RCA flyback NLA. Use original Horiz output transistor Toshiba 2sc5148.

If i lower the vertical height, tearing lines disappear. No error code in service mode.
    Ear low noisy flyback.
See pictures (on one picture, lines appear suddenly and disappear).
Any suggestion? Bulletin note? Jungle ic? Damper diode failure? Flyback incompatible???

Get an ESR meter and check all the electrolytic capacitors in the set! I am sure you will find many decoupler and coupling capacitors that are on the edge or too high in ESR.

I would not be surprised if you find at least a few dozen caps or more when you finish with the ESR meter!!!

I've had this many times in older sets. The time to do the work costs more than the parts!

Probably the horizontal out(HOT) is shorted. The flyback transformer is probably gone out also. For a 32650 the horz. is a 2sc5148 or a nte 2324. I don't know if the 36 is the same horz.or not . Hope this is helpful.

This has happened to me quite frequently. I have replaced the fuse at least 8 times. You just take off the back of the t.v. and on the bottom you will see a small glass fuse. just pop it out and go to radio shack and get a pack of replacements. about 4 for 3 dollars.

Tv will not turn on with remote or when I press the power button on the tv.

The P52960 uses the PTK195 series chassis. The most common cause of that set not starting up is a shorted flyback transformer. It is quite easy to test and replace the flyback transformer in that chassis, but that should be done by a qualified tech experienced in RCA projection sets.

RCA P52940 Television

The P52940 uses the CTC195 series main chassis. The most common reason for the set not to start up is a shorted flyback (high voltage) transformer. The set actually does try to start, but the computer immediately detects the extra current drawn by the shorted flyback and instantly shuts the set back off. The chassis should be checked and the flyback replaced by a qualified tech familiar with RCA projection TV's.

Won't work

It sounds like something in the high voltage (flyback) circuit failed. If any little thing shorts in these RCA's they will not start up. Stargazer
