Starting problem Dead TV. RCA 32F530T, chassis ATC113CD4. I Replace flyback # 257807 along with the H-O/P XSTR (2SC5148). > Problem fix. Everything work fine, except i have hatching or tearing lines at one or two places on the screen depending on the white level (contrast), always in half screen area on the top. Same symptom with video and RF input.
>I replace the flyback 3 times with different part # (not original RCA flyback) and suppliers, 257807, 257805 and ACME-2632 (replacement for RCA #261163). Still have exactly the same problem with 2 tv set. I checked parts in the horizontal and vertical circuit, DC supply, everything looks good.
Any suggestion? Bulletin note?

It is not clear from your post, that which transformer part number you wants to know. Anyway I'm hereby send you the part numbers of it two main transformers.
Horizontal Ouput Transformer, or Line Output Transformer or Flyback transformer [HOT or LOT or FBT]; Part number is (257807)
Switeched Mode Power Supply transofrmer [ SMPS transformer]: Part number is (257807)
Probably the horizontal out(HOT) is shorted. The flyback transformer is probably gone out also. For a 32650 the horz. is a 2sc5148 or a nte 2324. I don't know if the 36 is the same horz.or not . Hope this is helpful.
This has happened to me quite frequently. I have replaced the fuse at least 8 times. You just take off the back of the t.v. and on the bottom you will see a small glass fuse. just pop it out and go to radio shack and get a pack of replacements. about 4 for 3 dollars.
I will guess you remember tube sets from our parents days !
They stopped being Mfr'd in 1972 !
Best solution for your set = replace horiz transformer and
transistor with RCA part # 's 257807 & 237470................T.
The P52960 uses the PTK195 series chassis. The most common cause of that set not starting up is a shorted flyback transformer. It is quite easy to test and replace the flyback transformer in that chassis, but that should be done by a qualified tech experienced in RCA projection sets.
The P52940 uses the CTC195 series main chassis. The most common reason for the set not to start up is a shorted flyback (high voltage) transformer. The set actually does try to start, but the computer immediately detects the extra current drawn by the shorted flyback and instantly shuts the set back off. The chassis should be checked and the flyback replaced by a qualified tech familiar with RCA projection TV's.
